best matte black for kitchen cabinets??
Comments (8)Fenix laminate. I have samples, and absolutely love them. This stuff does NOT show fingerprints. I couldn't get fingerprints to show, even when I tried. When I finally poured oil over my finger tips and rubbed it on the surface, the oil just ran off when I held the sample under the running water. No soap needed. It was really odd! In comparison, I had to wash my hands for quite a long time and reach repeatedly for more soap to get the the stickyness off the fingers. And the surface looks absolutely gorgeous, and somehow feels soft to the touch. Unique! To get a really good looking kitchen, you will have to find a professional who knows how to apply laminate the European way, no visible edges etc. That's going to be difficult, and I'd think will be very expensive. Go look at laminate fronts at a European cabinetry showroom. The doors look totally different than anything US made, I've ever seen. I belief they miter the laminate edges for smooth invisible corner joints. Rehau carries it in the US. https://www.rehau.com/us-en/furniture/surfaces/matte/about?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIkoeOrKmE4gIVxbrACh34XQAcEAAYASAAEgKDA_D_BwE Good luck with your project....See MoreFENIX finish and Miralis Cabinetry for kitchen

Comments (34)@palimpsest Great memory! The cabinets were 70’s horrid style. The ktichen was a tiny room. Everything was divided into tiny spaces. I tore it all out to open the whole space up to the glass and views. Now it’s shaped like an L where the entire inside of the L is all glass and open space. So I have modified it from the original. I do not want an original midcentury home. I want an updated midcentury modern home. I have already updated it by getting rid of the claustophobic spaces, replacing all of the glass with double pane low e glass, expanding the kitchen, moving the laundry room, adding a master suite and garage, etc. Those cabinets are great! The wood is very pretty. But I agree about the gray. Right now I am thinking of a shade of green to match the aloe, succulents and cacti that are outside. Make it more of an inside out home....See MoreFenix NTM cabinet doora
Comments (2)Fenix gives specific instructions on saw blade selection. I would have called Forrest and asked them and tested. Some white edgbanding adhesive and and an ability to hang doors and you would have had a nice job...See Moresandyk311
