I wouldnt be too worried to be honest, Stuart. we were considering the commodor verde colour for a while but then were put off by all the comments. i decided to order a couple 400x600 sheets that i taped to our current worktop to test what all the fuss was about. i can say yes they do require more consistent cleaning than most other worktops because if you miss a spot youll notice it no doubt. What i found works best is spray with a gentle cleaner ( we use koh) then magic sponge then a dry cloth. That works the best from our experience. After these little tests i would go ahead with fenix with the understanding there is more consitent cleaning needed which wouldnt bother me personally. Its just a matter of how on top of it you want to be so it looks its best. Hope that gives a bit of insight. i find it strange there are no real world youtube reviews of this stuff.

The Fenix NTA color “Hamilton “ looks like brushed stainless steel. The problem you are going to have on a countertop application are the edges. Beside finding someone to fabricate it for you it’s the most problematic issue with using any Fenix laminate for countertop. The 1.2 mm through color can be mitered and blended pretty well but can also look like a hack job by someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing. Also the price of 1.2 is a lot higher and can’t be rolled to ship so you will pay for crating. The metallic is not through color so it has to be edge banded. I do not like what the edgebanding looks like on the metalics. You see a clear line around the perimeter because the metallic layer is only on the outside. Don’t know if “bloom” colors are available here. Haven’t checked but Fenix in now being made in North America as well as Europe.

I think we are moving in the direction to do the island, perimeter counters and backs splash (all the way up the wall) in the same White Santorini Quartzite. Any feedback on this? Im sensitive to adding too many different materials into the mix. Is this too much of one thing?

Just seemed to be a better white for us - as for the quartz I love the suede finish of the eternal Statuario but the fingerprints would drive me crazy. I had a sample in my kitchen and sure enough from every angle it was nothing but finger prints! I think the polished will be better for me to maintain - though I absolutely love the honed/suede look - looks more like marble for sure. I’m also worried about curry and turmeric staining - I’ve read that’s an issue and I like to cook a lot. Let me know what you end up with, will be fun for you to see all the whites! We had our kitchen designer bring them to our house so it’s all about the lighting too. You’ll like the cabinets!! :-)
