Question about pendant light finish 'matching' rest of finishes
Comments (2)kellienoelle, I had a similar realization when I was choosing pendants. I was looking at my kitchen as a self-contained room where all the metals were either stainless or pewter. I have an oil-rubbed bronze pendant over my dining table, in full view and spitting distance from where the pendants hang. I ended up getting black metal on my pendants (the ORB looks black) and it looks like it's supposed to be that way....See MoreShould wet bar match kitchen cabinetry?
Comments (8)It is definitely clean and modern. Our kitchen has white cabinetry, white countertops, marble herringbone backsplash and more modern light fixtures. Most of our home is painted a very light grey (with a few rooms painted a soft aqua color). Our basement is on the smaller side and fairly dark as the only natural light is from a guest bedroom. I don't want it to feel cave like, which I'm afraid it might feel like with the dark espresso furniture that we'll be putting in it (it worked in our old home which had a walk-out basement and lots of natural light) ....See MoreChanging edge of granite to match rest of space
Comments (5)I think the thickness issue is less of a problem than the bullnose. The backbar is far enough away from the kitchen that the difference in the thickness is not as noticeable. What is noticeable is the bullnose AND the seam used to create it. I would look into other options for this counter top to give it the squared off profile that is consistent with the kitchen and the back bar. Perhaps something totally different? A walnut butcher block? Or a dark leathered granite? A contrast so that everything doesn’t match. Pros????...See MoreMatch wine bar to kitchen?
Comments (5)You can totally make your bar cabinets in a contrasting color from your kitchen. Our "wine bar" is done in dark wood and placed around the corner in a hallway with a closed off pantry area at one end, and bar at the other. A mud area in between. We walk from garage through the area, and into the white kitchen. No natural light in the hallway unless we keep the pantry doors open (which we probably will most of the time.) It's very large and does have a window that will be covered with wide blinds. We thought a white bar in that area would stand out too much. We also have brick floors in that hallway. Very pleased with the look so far. Yet to move in....See More- 3 years ago
