Paint Design Dilemma

Accent color conundrum

We are looking to add an accent color on the wall to the right of our stairwell and the half wall above the stairwell. We just painted the living room walls with “stone hearth” from Benjamin Moore and are looking at options that would look good with that color and brown carpet. Any ideas what would be a good color?

Usually I like blues with brown and you need to lower the pics on that wall to be center of pic at eye level when standing at the railing. I am not a lover of accent walls unless they connect to something in the space like a piece of art or an item you love so what is it you want to accent.BTW clocks IMO are not art work and you need much larger art on the piano wall and nicer closed storage for toys .

You have to work the accent color into the rest of the room.

Larger art over piano needed.

The GU10 bulbs are probably line-voltage MR16s. They would be more like little spotlights; fine for highlighting a piece of art, but not for wall washing. The wall-washer trims would give the most even, diffuse light but not as much of it; a lot of light never makes it out of the scoop. The PAR20 gimbals would put more light onto the wall, but less evenly than the wall-washers; they would be less crisp and intense than the GU10s, but still have something of that spotlight effect.

I'm looking for a similar color of grey/blue/green for my walls. It's hard to get the perfect shade right?! Glad you found one. I will check it out at lowes. In our business, my husband and I paint a lot. We have tried all brands. We used to think lowes paint was, well, I'll just say not the best. But we recently tried out the newest valspar called "reserve" and really liked it! We use it all the time now. it is really worth the few extra bucks. Trust me. :)

Your tub is not quite gray, it actually looks lavender on the photo. I have a lavender tub and I used gray, but, I do have white tile half way up .
