"Why wouldn't the sales person tell me they are not truly white?" They are white, just a white with grayish undertones. Every "white" has some other back tint, gray, yellowish, etc. Technically white is not a color but a shade. You blame the dealer but why didn't you look at the color white and match it against the paint color you wanted to use?

For a 32x62 the 400 would cost approximately $525, to vinyl wrap the interior would add about $10 and to paint would add about $25. The 100 would be about $425 for white on white. Savings would be about $2600- $3500, weather this cost is minimal would be mostly opinion. The 100 looks cleaner more modern in the inside , the 400 looks cleaner on the outside and less modern. The 100 has 2 layers of weatherstripping vs 1 on the 400 with exception another layer at the head. The hardware is different and hard to compare.The. U-values are about the same and I believe the 100 is tighter in air infiltration. Everything is based upon a visual inspection and pricing at Home Depot. If going with white interior I would seriously consider a nice vinyl window.

Thanks, WoW. Our first bid was for Anderson Architectural, E-series. This is out of our budget - around $28,000. My husband's response to this was to get a bid for vinyl - the Walsh Tundra double-hung. That bid came in at just under $11,000, hard for him to resist, but I just think they are so unattractive. I went back to my E-series guy, and he bid the Marvin Integrity at $20,000. He then suggested that I look at the 100 series. I don't have a bid yet, but I think they look a lot better than the vinyl. If you are willing to give more opinion, here are my questions: Do you know if the 100 series functions as well over time as the vinyl Walsh Tundra? If they are both installed correctly, and I have the correct humidity in my house, and all of that, will one need replacing sooner than the other? Do you have any other experience with the Tundra? I forgot to mention that we also got a bid on a Pella window that came in at $23,000. I mention this because that contractor, as well as the vinyl contractor talk about installing the window from the inside. Since I like my window casing and think it is an architectural feature of the house more so than the outside trim, they said they could install from the outside, so that they are replacing the outside trim instead of the inside. My 100 series guy on the other hand, removes all of the casing inside and out and replaces with new. He says he can recreate the same look on the inside that I have now. SO, my question about this is wondering if that is necessary, or on the other hand, if I should be worried about the guys who are just going to replace window casing on one side of the window. I hope that questions makes sense. I don't know all of the correct techno-jargon. Thanks for any insight you are willing to provide
