Depending on how close the windows are to the floor, you either just paint it (no boxes) or do shorter boxes that are the width of the window. The chair rail will run int the trim on either side of the window. BTW, crown molding is what goes where the wall meets the ceiling. What you are talking about is a type of waincoting. The attached picture shows true raised panel wainscoting (rather than the applied boxes), but it is the same idea. Here is a link that might be useful:

It's been my expereince that it's diffcult to restore the pull out strength at the same location once it's been damaged like that. If you installation can tolerate it, it's best to set new anchors in an undamaged part of the wall (at least a couple of inches away from these holes). That being said, you can try to use oversize wall anchors and grip the existing holes or you can fill them and put new anchors in. If you're holding up heavy drapes it could prove frustrating. If you opt for new anchors, and the old holes re covered by the drapes, then IMHO you only have tor repair the old holes if knowing they exist bothers you as they won't be seen under normal circumstances.

Hi, Was this a part of an addition? As far as plaster or sheetrock goes plaster has sand sheetrock is gypsun no sand. Rub some on yor hand and you should feel the difference. An idea for repair is to cut the wall in a straight cut about four feet up. Install a ledger board 2x6 or 2x4 against the cut on the old wall. If the washing machine is on the same grade as the closet then set a ledger board (maybe pressure treated) on the floor like the other board. Set the board in a bead of silicone calk.Install sheet rock between the two ledger boards If the closet is less than eight foot cut the tappers off each side of the sheetrock and cut to length. Install the sheet rock and caulk the top and bottom where it meetes the ledger boards. If it's close enough I would caulk the sides (its a closet). Then prime and paint. Make sure to fix any problens when you have the wall open. Good Luck Woodbutcher

I wouldn't cut back anything on plants that size. Definitely amend the hole, but mix the compost etc with some native soil. Yes, to watering. I water in the soil half-way through planting and again at the end and make a trough at the root line to help corral the water, then mound some compost over the canes. Depending on sun exposure, I would shade them with something such as lawn chairs or an umbrella at least until you start to see new growth.they may look worse at first, but soon little leaves will appear and you can fertilize with something gentle and organic. Many people recommend fish emulsion, but I've never used it. I don't see why you won't get blooms this Fall. Good Luck! P.S.
