Retail Store-GE Appliances and Quality/Service Issues
Comments (5)>>I am not interested in mixing brands. >>I consider myself an above average shopper/purchaser/consumer. I find these statements somewhat inconsistent. If you are "above average" then you'd be anxious to mix brands. These days no one manufacturer makes the best in class of all appliances and most savvy shoppers including most people on this forum do mix brands. GE does make good MWs (I can't comment personally on the Advantium) but I would stay away from their fridges. Some good manufacturers concentrate on what they do best and don't offer a full line of appliances or else rebadge others to fill out their line. It's hard to say what was up with your salesman - either he gets better commisions for selling other brands or else he's had lots of complaints from his customers about GE. Even on this forum we've had complaints of the form - my brand XXX appliance broke after the warranty ran out and XXX refused to do anything for me for free - I'll never buy brand XXX again. Sadly, appliances these days are not made like they used to be. Why are you unwilling to mix brands - are you concerned they won't match? You should take a look at the Finished Kitchens Blog and you'll see many really nice looking kitchens with mixed brands. As an above average shopper, you ought to research individual appliances and get the best ones that meet your need and budget....See MoreQuality Outdoor Furniture Brands/Materials?
Comments (19)I saw this thread as I am dealing with frustration with my wood furniture from Pottery Barn. I bought the Chatham line less than two years ago, covered it all winter and any time it rained last summer. It is peeling and has cracks. I have talked with the customer service people and they tell me this is normal and that I need to refinish it. I may let it weather, but either way, I am annoyed because it was really expensive (to me, anyway). I wouldn't get wood again......See MoreGood quality catalog/mail order outdoor furniture?
Comments (11)We really like our Martha Stewart chaise lounge chairs from Home Depot: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Martha-Stewart-Living-Cedar-Island-All-Weather-Wicker-Adjustable-Patio-Chaise-Lounge-with-Dragon-Fruit-Cushion-DY4035-C/202436786 I ordered this daybed last year from Walmart and was shocked at the quality and comfort level. Love it! I don't use the canopy, I bought a big umbrella instead. At some point, this will go down in price to about $299 if I remember correctly from last year: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Providence-Outdoor-Day-Bed-Red/29002326 And Sam's Club outdoor furniture is very nice. I just ordered the Member's Mark Heritage set for my FL outdoor dining: http://www.samsclub.com/sams/heritage-7pc-balcony/prod15930293.ip?sprodId=prod15930293 I also have a very similar seating set to this one in PA: http://www.samsclub.com/sams/carnaby-4pc-seat-14-2014-seating/prod11800695.ip I bought some expensive custom wicker furniture for our PA screen porch last year, but all of these above pieces I linked to are much nicer and more comfortable than that furniture....See MoreCross-Post: Need Quality Bedroom Furniture Stores in San Diego
Comments (3)Yes, she might get lucky at the Macy's furniture store in Mission Valley. Living Spaces and Jerome's have a large selection. Woodbridge carries brands like Thomasville but not sure if that's in her price range. Room and Board is popular right now but the San Diego store is opening in the fall in the UTC mall so shopping is online or she can drive to Orange County to see items in person. There are dozens of furniture stores along Miramar Road including Ashley. Sometimes you need to stop at each shop along the road and look to see what they have. If the concern is the furniture falling apart I'd suggest she look closely at how the bed is put together on the showroom floor. Some styles are top heavy. I've found that price is not always a good indicator of "quality" when it comes to furniture. I have 22 year old IKEA dressers that I've now moved 4 times and I won't say they look like new but they are solid and the wood veneer is dated but has held up well....See Morefloral_uk z.8/9 SW UK
