Yes, my Sunrise cast iron pedestal tub/shower does look dirty after cleaning AND still my possible slipping seems to be a big concern for my children who visit me. (This was just mentioned tonight by my visiting and shower taking children) True, they don't know how important it is to rinse out conditioner after a shower and it's possible they took showers back to back of each other without rinsing the tub after the shower is done. According to my children, this shower set up is an accident waiting to happen in my house. I say, you have to know what to do to to avoid it.

Did your KD know you were getting a DW with a handle instead of just the latch? Did you provide her with the specs? Did you understand that by choosing a DW with a handle, the corner cabinet would need a larger filler and the peninsula would be longer, impacting both your clearances at the aisle and the usability of that corner cabinet? There are tradeoffs for everything. When you place an appliance right next to a corner cabinet, you have to be really careful to use the right size fillers, and often clients don't like the look of the larger filler needed and the "wasted space" that it appears to be and KDs compromise for the "form" instead of the "function" We weren't there for the design meetings and don't know what went on in the back and forth of client/KD as far as your mandates vs. the KD's function check. I'd have to say that if you didn't give the KD the specs on the DW, then you are at fault, and if you did, then she is at fault unless you, the client, overruled using the larger filler for aesthetic sake. Even then, she should have made you sign a waiver about not being able to open the door. At this point, though, it doesn't matter whose fault it is, because the only real fix is to give up the DW with the handle and get a "regular" DW with a latch. If you'd be willing to do that to fix the problem, then that's probably a cheaper DW than what you have originally, and if the error is the KD's I'd have her purchase the 2nd DW and put the original handled DW where your DD is, and save the DD for a wet bar somewhere else.

The light rail on the cabinets is now 17 1/2 over the counter top and the bottom of the MW is 15 1/2 over the grates on the range. That inch actually made a big difference. The company did correct the many mistakes that I pointed out. If I had said nothing, they wouldn't have either, even though it appears they knew about it. The contractor or owners never came here at the end of a day to see what the subs had done. I was never told that they saw something wasn't done right and they would fix it, it was always up to me to look at the job that was done while I was at work and to then tell them what I saw. Then they would fix it. They basically finished the job yesterday because I insisted that the kitchen be done for Thanksgiving. At the rate of work being done one day a week, it could have gone on until Christmas. BF and I just started doing the finish work ourselves. The gas line to the range still needs to be adjusted so the range can slide all the way in, the hood isn't venting through the roof, cabinet doors are unaligned, none of the handles were attached to the drawers, molding is missing, etc, etc. But it was the witching hour (4pm) and they had to leave. They'll be back in a couple of weeks to fix the bigger issues, we'll do the rest ourselves.

I agree, defrost - I was forgetting that my need to get into the garden in the rain, is not into the vegetable garden. And I have raised beds as well, which I think makes it different. I work with the concept that walking on wet soil compacts it anyway, so I try not to do that, but I do have a lot of pathways and stepping stones that allow me access even on a day when it's raining lightly. I also don't like to touch foliage when it's wet. But I seem to get a lot of weather that is damp and cloudy but not exactly wet. I always like to get out as soon as the ground is workable to divide perennials and transplant, but - at least half of my springs, it doesn't work out that way. I ended up just transplanting all my houseplants yesterday, which were overdue, and getting some cleaning done around the house yesterday - and got a nap too. [g]. My list has a lot on it still. We usually go to a few plant sales in May and I now have a lot of pots to get in the ground. The vegetable garden is just showing bean seeds sprouting. Peas are barely growing much, no flowers yet. I just put tomatoes and peppers, summer squash and cuke transplants in the ground last week and they're just sitting there doing nothing. Three days in the 80s this week, should change that. Lettuce transplants are slow growing. I had this issue last season, a lot of cloudy weather early that slowed down growth.
