Comments (20)Most if not all of the Gilmar bulbs were commercially grown in South America (most probably in feilds)so I am not surprised if they were already infected while being produced Kristi. I can self pollinate one of the flowers if ya'll want some seeds. Gilmar is very fertile and is one that I consider "universal" successfully crossing with both tetraploids and diploids....See More...Seasonal Greetings...
Comments (11)I hope you get your winter, Marlorena: I too worry when it's too mild this time of year. This year the cold did finally arrive in November. We regularly get snow, frost, and extended chilly weather. After all, though here at the farm we have olives and tea roses, we also have lilacs and peonies. Our cat has been sick since late summer at least, and I suspect has used up several of her lives. More than once I thought she would die. Currently she is at least solidly alive, and we're about to begin the latest round of therapy, the earlier ones not having done anything for the skin condition. By now we must have put close to a thousand dollars into vet visits, treatments, and specialized diets. I've been following Brexit with interest and a degree of horror, and I wish you a good outcome! The whole thing is possibly the most amazing political event I've ever seen in my life, only excepting our own president, though in his case he's just one man, while you have an entire political system running amok....See MoreSeason's Greetings From Siberolina
Comments (14)@Christopher CNC, absolutely agree with your observations on extreme weather swings that are becoming the norm. It’s truly frightening when one ponders the causes and the not so long term effects which seem to be more evident with each passing season. On a cheerier note, your full moon snow garden appreciation made me smile. Because we in the PNW have been enjoying several days of clear night skies, daytime sun & frosty mornings with daytime highs only in low 40’s, I’ve been able to enjoy seeing that full moon illuminating my little yard while seeing it in early evening peeking through the giant fir trees on the adjacent acreage East of me as it rises. Forecast is for increasing cloudiness today so no more viewing tonight & we’ll be warming back up from daytime low 40’s to balmy low 50’s later this week....See MoreRosefolly
