Idyll #390 - Meetings and Greetings
Comments (121)((Cynthia)) I'm so very sorry. You and Katie were both blessed to have had each other, and I have enjoyed getting to know her through you. I can just imagine her hooking up with all the other Idyll pets and sharing stories about their crazy humans. My Guido and a host of others will look out for her. Be at peace, Katie. Brenda...See MoreNeed an ID, Alfresco, and H. Evansiae
Comments (5)Kristi, beautiful blooms! That shot of Nymph is amazing. How many scapes was that? I'm looking forward to seeing pics of Lady Diana opened. Those Maguires blooms are the most intricate I think. My Harbour Lights will be ready next week to post a picture of. I think your red/white one looks like my Gilmar - but I have no idea if my Gilmar is really a Gilmar either (lol). Alana...See MoreGreetings and question regarding H. reticulatum
Comments (74)Now it's been exactly 2 month and today I'm moving my plants indoors again. On the first picture here in the plants haven't been watered for a month (the bigger pots for more than a month) so they already rested a bit before ... I guess it should be enough now. I'm anxious to see which of them will bloom for me again and how many leaves they will produce this time. First I'll leave them on the heated windowsill, once the first leaf has emerged they'll be watered slightly from below. When the flowering bud has emerged fully from the bulb they'll again get a good gulp. All right, I'm off to the friends cellar, another friend of mine helps me with his car. They all think I'm crazy but that's nothing new ;)...See MoreGreetings for 2010 my friends
Comments (34)Maria, I believe these bulbs are coming form Israel, and last year the picture didn't match the name (Seductess) I didn't, since mine didn't bloom, but I'm sure many people complained, and this year they got the same bulb (hopefully for Josh) and changed the name to Cherry Crush, and the picture of last year's Seductress was changed to Beauty Bells, (are you confused yet). As for Joker, unfortunately my Joker is a Joke, about the size of a golf ball and has never bloomed. I bought a Siren (Joker look-alike) and it bloomed normally with good sized flowers and average stems size It was a beauty!(I didn't measure) I was under the impression that Joker was sort of a miniature (might be wrong) and Siren wasn't a miniature, in fact the bulb this year is the size of a softball or larger. But since I'm not really familiar with the size of Joker's blooms, maybe it was Joker aka Siren! As for Alfresco, I don't know...I'll have to go take a look... I am very pleased that it appears that I have the same bulb as your posted picture, Josh may have who knows what? By the way, I am up to my elbows in sprouting Clivia seeds... Donna...See Moreraydio
