The same as OP, but just saw extended forecast calling for some kind of

storms by next week-end. We have not seen a single flake of snow yet.

Our azaleas are blooming ,that’s normally March. 80 one day ,50’s next. One day wearing shorts , next day, jeans, sweaters , coats. Today will be a cold day.

I'm outside of Chicago and thank god...no snow for now. Temps are mid to low 40s which is unusual. I'm enjoying it though...hate that bitter cold.

Pretty much the same. We had our first snowfall a few weeks ago. That snow will probably be here until March or April. North-central Alberta. Perfect for outdoor winter activities!

Yes, the weather is changing, there is snow on the ground here now, being December that is considered normal for NE Ohio.

Being 60 and a life long gardener I believe that the climate is changing too. As a child I remember winter arriving sometime regularly in November with snow and ice, and it STAYING THAT WAY until mid April. Now we seem to be having mild (50s 60s 70s plus) temperatures and lots of sunshine through November on a more regular basis. Winter weather doesn't seem to set in and stay until sometime after December now - and once the snow all melts in March it goes from winter into summer like weather more often than not. So being aware of weather conditions my entire life I would say that winter often starts much later in the season, and leaves much earlier. It is great for growing in the garden, but makes me feel a bit unsettled.

Not here in SW FL, we have finally gotten a couple of cold fronts that last a day or two. Beautiful weather in the 60's and 70's. Very typical for this time of year. This is the time of year when we get outside and golf, walk, and go to the beach!

I haven't lived here long enough to know for sure but it seems like we pretty regularly have highs a couple degrees above average and lows five to ten degrees above average. So although highs aren't much above average, warmer lows are perhaps raising the average temperature? Or at least that's the way it "feels" to me.

Summers temperatures here are boringly predictable but winter temperatures can vary wildly depending on wind direction. We've had a few below average days with cool/chilly mornings lately and a few more are in the forecast. I'll consider them gifts and enjoy them. The first winter I lived here (2010-2011) I was covering tomatoes trying to keep them alive but I haven't had any trouble since. This winter I hope they freeze. :)

I'm about five miles inland and twenty five foot elevation so I'm not worried about sea level rise in my lifetime. An increase in storm frequency and severity, yes.

Yes. Last year we had no snow. Years ago, we frequently had snow and big storms. I have a rose blooming outside my family room window. I have noticed that when we have rain storms, they are much, much windier and violent. So, yes, I think the weather has changed. Climate change is real.

Hard to say for sure, because we moved from zone 7 to zone 6 five years ago. But in general it seems Winter starts later every year, even here in our colder zone. We'll have mild temperatures (low 40's overnight, 60's during day) all the way to Christmas, only a couple sub-freezing mornings. January and February are bleak and cold. Springtime remains variable. I haven't noticed any change in storm patterns. Last I heard, climate change models predict my area to have milder, wetter weather -- so we "win". Yay us. :-(

I feel like the weather is shifting back to the way it was when I was a kid. Weather has always been changing.

I think we have had the coldest fall since I've been here. I think I heard on the news after Hurricane Harvey that winters after we have a hurricane hit tend to be colder. I'm predicting Houston will get snow this winter. Stay tuned for my snow man.

My mom is 88 and grew up in the bush on the edge of one of the biggest lakes in the country. I defer to her and she says that the changes she sees now are different than the regular changes and shifts that she used to see from year to year.

Also, if you've never lived where there is permafrost, you probably can't appreciate the impact of watching it melt. The far north, IMHO, is the canary in the coal mine.

daisychain, I agree. I have lived in the same area for over 60 years. North-Central Alberta. We have four distinct seasons. The weather has stayed the same, more or less. Some years we have hotter summers, some years colder winters, some years less snow and so on, but pretty much the same. Overall it is changing, though.

Where I have noticed a real change is in the size of the lakes and the size of snow caps on the mountains. They are definitely shrinking.

I'm in central Wisconsin and we do have snow on the ground. No snow when I was down in Madison on Friday but Madison is down in the tropics.

We're a bit north of Chicago. DH and I have lived in one or another suburb all of our 80-ish years. It's warmer here now overall. There's more annoying back and forth in temperature, confusing to plants (and me). We've pretty much had 'autumn' with a lot of sunshine right up to now. There was a dusting of snow today for a few minutes around sunrise; going up to 40F.

Yesterday we had a temperature inversion which is a little unusual for this time of year. Local ski hill operators weren't happy as what little snow they have was melting.

I've lived in PA my whole life an hour from where I was raised. The seasons are nothing like they used to be. We had great snow and some years the ground was white for months till spring. We had definite seasons, summers were hot but not the 100 degrees ones we have now. They ended in Sept when the weather was cooler and pleasant and then cold winters with snow. Spring was lovely with warm days and cool nights. This is gone forever and I began to be a climate change believer in 1998 and have not wavered one bit from that.

I haven't consulted stats for recent years but i don't sense my mild winter area has seen much variation from "normal". Temps are cooler now and the winter season is the time of year when it rains here. With due attention to avoid a tautology or a "duh" comment, each year's rainfall seems to be either much above or much below what's "average". Average years are not that common. I do think the boom and bust nature of each rainy season's stats, swinging from torrential rainfall years to droughts, has been a constant for many, many decades.

Yes although one of this areas periodic droughts is beginning. My in-laws used to live on a lake in southern Missouri a few miles from the Arkansas border. Our moisture and temperature patterns are more like what I remember theirs were. I do not miss the at least one if not more weeks of near or over 100F that I considered normal for this area but I would like to have some of the humidity that accompanied those temperatures. Instead of 60-80% a high humidity is now in the mid 40%. Little snow but also fewer ice storms.

Colorado: We seem to be in a drought. It's cold, like usual...just not much snow.

I have lived within 100 miles of my birthplace going on 70 years. What I've observed is not the weather changing so much but a shift in seasonal weather. As a child I was having
backyard pool parties for my March birthday in an unheated pool. Before I became school aged, by March I was swimming in the Russian River where I would stay with my grandmother from the time the river receded after winter rain to mid September. Now Spring comes later and so do the other seasons, weather wise. One of the things that started to annoy me years ago was the shift to starting school before Labor Day when we are still in midsummer. When I was a child we sweltered in school by late May and unless we had an Indian summer by mid Sept. things began to cool down. We have also always had years of drought followed by a year of two of stormy wet weather. What has changed is a larger population and water being redirected to desert communities. It's not climate change, it's overpopulation and communities that should never have been built in areas that didn't have the infrastructure and resources to support them.

It's certainly climate change here. In the 70s, we were a straight gardening zone 5, last spring frost mid to late May, first fall frost mid September. Summer temps never got to 90 and winter temps regularly below zero with lots of snow. We had beautiful falls with leaf color, chilly nights and brisk days.

Now we are almost a zone 7. We no longer have fall--it stays very hot--often 90 degrees well into October and sometimes we don't get a frost until November. No fall color--the leaves just hang on until they turn brown and fall off in late Nov. Nothing more than a dusting of snow in winter and temps never get below the teens and last year never got below the upper teens.

And every year is hotter than the year before. Related climate change effects include torrential rains with flooding in areas that have never seen flooding before. Denying climate change is delusional and dangerous.

I don't really know but when I first moved here, 15 years ago, we had very mild winter weather, hardly any snow...then it started being crazy cold with temps getting down to a negative 16 degrees and lots and lots of snow and now it is back to being more mild. I think that weather just changes back and forth. It would make sense that the earth would continue to warm and warm because the polar icebergs have been melting since the ice age and will continue to melt...that's my thinking anyway. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that eventually, the earth will be too warm to sustain life as we now know it.

Here in Ohio back in the 70s we were a solid zone 4, now we have been bumped up to zone 5. The last frost date for this area used to be June 1, now we can have frost free weather anytime after the beginning of April.

The weather here has become more extreme. I know the climate has always changed, and will continue changing. The rapid rate of change that we are seeing on Earth for the last 20 yrs is frightening to me.

You are right laceyvail, climate change is very real. Sometimes I wonder what the landscape will look like 100 years from now...

Something I have noticed and while it is weather related it is more seasonal related. It is almost as if our seasons have moved. Autumn cold weather now happens in early September. We are having more freezes in late April and hard frosts in May. Even late May. That has not stopped our temperatures from being in the 40s one day then the 90s the next sometime in May. My first species peonies used to bloom reliably around March 15. They now bloom in early April although this year my first bloom was not those plants but a regular one that bloomed April 2. The last two years my last blooms were in March where in previous years the last blooms were the third week of May.
