Comments (14)Mine has went through one summer and it did well along the west side of a 6 ft cinder block fence. Some of the leaves took a little bit of a beating during July (turned a brownish color in places on the leaves), but otherwise it grew like a champ. It probably received about 8 hours of sunlight during that time. Overall, it along with my page mandarin seemed to work out the best of all the citrus I tried last year. Lots of flushes and flowers on both varieties right now....See MoreList your citrus collection here
Comments (57)Bought one of those cocktail trees from Hirts a few months back. It was impulsive as they strike me as a little "cutesy" and not serious trees. The lemon and lImequat's roots are intertwined and no way to separate. Lemon looked sickly and yellow leafed on arrival, but the limequat fine. The lemon has dropped some leaves but just noticed a few bursts of green on the branches. Someday 10 years from now want to be drinking gin and tonics and whiskey sours even though I don't imbibe- yet....See MoreFree citrus trees San Francisco Bay Area
Comments (10)Agoodlot! That was a huge kind hearted thing for you to do. In fact, Nick seems like a great person since I have seen him here so you can be assured it's in good hands. Funny you should mention the Fish Emulsion because what you see is for real, at least in my case too. I have yet to battle mites and scale and other pests that ail many of my fellow citrus partners here from just that alone, used consistently all summer which takes dedication. If it were not for this routine, I would fight them all the time like a use too in years past. There use to be a time when many friends and members here had the same results and I believe many have left for many reasons but one because many had pest issues and no longer do, so no longer come here. I miss them all. Please, feel free to share your experience with Fish Emulsion since the turnover group of a minute few have become very , let's just put this in a nice way, doubtful of its benefits)) You are a blessing here and I am sure your trees will be very happy. Here's a link I'd love you to post to..Best regards my friend [https://www.houzz.com/discussions/fish-fertilizer-emulsion-with-foliagepro-proper-dosage-dsvw-vd~5224289?n=34[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/fish-fertilizer-emulsion-with-foliagepro-proper-dosage-dsvw-vd~5224289?n=34) Mike...See MorePhoenix Perennials order came today
Comments (24)Jan your new trees are beautiful congratulations!!!!! You are going to love Shasta's very tasty , it was definitely the favorite around here last year . Just be careful with the many thorns it has mine has given me a good bite it seems every year . Jan I've been growing peppers , cucumbers and tomatoes inside the GH and they are all doing fantastic. Cherry tomatoes are ready now and the peppers are a good size . Cucumbers are also going crazy . The heat is shifting to the west now so your veggies should really pick up a few notches. The Tarocco #7 is supposed to be super sweet with some red but the rind stays orange . The Bream the rind and pulp turn an intense red possibly the most intense red of any blood orange but it needs a period of cool weather for the intense color. Shouldn't be a problem here right Jan lol . Brian...See MoreMatt z5b - Greenhouse 10a
