No hot water = instant hot water dispenser?
Comments (1)"can I just cap off the hot water line and install an instant hot water dispenser" Probably not ... if the pipes are that bad, they would probably crumble as you try to put a cap on them, and are ready to rupture in the wall anyway. "I don't want to replace the pipes because, to me, it's easier to run an electrical line then to crack open a plaster wall. " Ask a plumber ... they can usually repipe without having to make huge holes....See MoreHot Water Dispenser Dilemma-Insinkerator or Waste King or EverHot
Comments (9)We are getting the Vertex bottleless water dispenser thanks to learning about it on GW. It is a filter and has both hot and cold water at the touch of a button. You hook it up to a water supply to not need bottles, so it solves the dispensing, filtering and hot water needs all in one (we did not "need" the hot water feature, but will prob find it to be handy). The only downside is it will take some counter space, but we plan on making it fit our plan because we could not find a fridge freezer set with water in the door in our price range. We have an interior icemaker and wanted to encourage filtered water drinking in our house over store bought pre-made drinks. I am guessing we will make more (unsweetened) iced teas with the simplified hot water feature.... Here is a link that might be useful: Vertex...See MoreAdvice on instant hot water dispensers
Comments (4)They have the active safety measure that the handle must be held in the On position for it to work. You can't just turn it on, walk away, and have it run. A small burn and then then turn it loose is all that would happen, even in the worse case scenario. Best case is that your kids learn without the minor pain reinforcement and never touch it at all. But they are big energy wasters. 90 seconds in the MW uses less energy and allays your safety fears. Plus the $600 cost and another $300-$600 to run the dedicated electrical line that they need. If you have room in your panel. So many things in a kitchen redo need that dedicated line that sometimes you need a new panel to fit them all in....See MoreInSinkErator single-handle hot water dispenser missing parts
Comments (5)Zoom into the photo of a used one on ebay. I don't see how the copper pipes are attached to the underside of the faucet. The installation manual shows them as pre-attached, not attached by the user....See Morejakkom
