Pottery Barn Campagna Line HELP
Comments (13)Lots to think about - How much can you get the pine table for? How much do you dislike the knots? How old are your kids? Pine is a soft wood, easily scratched. This may be an inexpensive option while the kids are young, if you can get past the knots. It's a casual looking table. For the EA one - What wood is it made from? Any wood can be scratched; again, what age are your kids and what are they apt to do to a table top? Either of these could be protected by a 1/4" glass top, but that wouldn't be cheap....See MoreBenchwright table from Pottery Barn - to wax or add coat of poly?
Comments (98)This furniture is wood chips compressed with glue, with a slap of cheap stain on top. It's awful given how much the pieces cost and how long you have to wait to have them delivered. The upholstered pieces don't hold up to real life either. I've also experienced dye fading in expensive PB towels and bathmats with the very first wash, while using a mild detergent like Cheer to protect the colors. The spots never stop appearing. Pottery Barn would not even consider taking them back. So I buy all household textiles elsewhere. Walmart has better quality towels. We shall see how these retailers fair in the next year or so, as the economy is changing rapidly, and how responsive they are to customers when there are fewer of them....See MorePottery Barn Everydaysuede or Performance Canvas for slipcovers?
Comments (4)I don’t have experience with the two fabric choices you listed but wanted to share my experience with the PB performance chunky basketweave in oatmeal for your reference. The fabric is 100% polypropylene and PB states it’s highly washable and can be clean with bleach. My PB sectional is 4 years old and we had our first incident tonight. My 3yo wasn’t feeling well and puked all of the dinner she had, one bowl of marinara pasta. She literally puked her entire dinner, poor girl. I am glad she is feeling better but the mess and the stain from the red sauce...I tried to clean with my previous Clorox wipes (in a midst of covid-19, Clorox wipes are very precious!!) and soap and baby wipes. Slightly better but not much. And since we haven’t taken off the cushion covers for wash (ours is upholstered) because we have been very careful and we don’t eat or drink on it so we never had any stain until tonight, I decided it’s time for its first wash. I took off all the covers and put them in washer in delicate cycle with cold water, regular detergent and hexol (disinfectant and deodorizer) follow by tumble dry low. The moment I took them out of dryer, I was so happy that I chose this fabric! The sectional looks like new! Before I picked out my fabric, I took all the possible samples home and did a test with typical food/drink that would stain fabric (chocolate, peanut butter, red wine, soy sauce, etc) and I tried to clean those stains with soap and rubbed them against with clean cloth. Lots of fabric had piling issues and some couldn’t get any stains out. The fabric I chose performed the best so I chose it over the other natural fabric which I wanted originally for the softness. But at the end, I picked this synthetic fabric over the natural fabric for its washability and tonight proved that it is quite washable! And we don’t have any piling issue either. The only cons is that this is synthetic fabric so it’s not as soft to touch as natural fabric, and at the time of my purchase, this fabric was only available in oatmeal, I would have want it in white or light gray. Looks like PB has discontinued this material now. Here’s a picture I took after I washed the covers. Good luck!...See MorePottery Barn Indio Outdoor Dining Patio Furniture anyone?
Comments (36)We have had a partial order of our Indio Metal Dining set and Lounge chairs delivered. (the rest is on backorder) While everything looks nice one of the Chaise lounge chairs and a couple of the dining chairs their legs do not all lign up and so there is a slight wobble to the chair. Both Chaise lounge chairs (not kept under the patio) have been rained on, while they look fine they are retaining water inside the aluminum construction of the chair. While i know aluminum does not rust, however aluminum can corrode over time. I am wondering if this is going to compromise the longevity of the chair? Again everything looks great, the quality of the product leaves us second guessing the purchase decision. Coming from a major designer/retailer like Pottery Barn this is a really big disservice to the customer confidence. i am looking forward to seeing how Pottery Barn addresses the situation. and here are a couple boring videos i took of the chair leaking water, the chairs are on their side and about 2 days after the last rain event. And yes the videos are like watching paint dry.. looks nice...See Morejewelisfabulous
