Provia vinyl replacement windows vs Soft Liite windows-which is t
Comments (0)I am wondering which is the better double hung replacement window of the two mentioned above. They both look like good windows but provia offfers a 3 pane window, Soft like doesn't. I am wondering how strong the frames are between the two and how will they hold up to high winds and rain ie hurricanes, storms etc. I believe Soft lite has a good rating but cannot find it on their web site nor on the pro via's site. Is there anyone who has had any experience with these two windows who would be willing to share their info, exp? Thanks...See MoreZen Windows and Soft-Lite
Comments (13)Thanks for the advice everyone. I did get a quote that seems reasonable but a little on the high side for the window they are offering. My guess is that's how there business model works by quoting without coming to the house. They will come out to take measurements before the order so I'm guessing if they saw something out of whack they'd adjust their quote then. Their quote breaks down to about $700 a window and they said the Softlite window the Nirvana is similiar to is the Softlite Classic. I'm going to keep looking. I did also get a quote from the Okna dealer who quoted me about a $1000 per window for the Okna 800. To me that sounded way too high. I'll probably only be in the house another seven years or so and I don't want a premium window just a "good" window that meets my requirements of having a wood grain finish on the interior of the window....See MoreSoft Lite Windows versus Milgard
Comments (5)The Imperial LS should be easier to open than the Tuscany and you would be making a huge mistake to buy the Tuscany over the LS for that reason. The LS comes standard with a Teflon coated balance spring assembly which makes for more fluid operation. The LS also bests the Tuscany in every other measure of performance (U-Factor, Design pressure, Air infiltration, etc). If the basis for buying the Tuscany is some aesthetic reason, that is for you to decide, however, if there are any performance consideration...you need to pick the LS. FYI...the LS is typically the more expensive of the two windows by about 15%...See Morejoyce_6333, replacement suggestions for Blue Pearl
Comments (0)I started writing a response to you in the Caesarstone Dreamy Marfil~ new and beautiful but then decided that it should have its own thread. Hopefully others will also offer replacement suggestions for your Blue Pearl counters. We briefly considered pairing Bianco Romano with Blue Pearl but only because we love Blue Pearl. Both are gorgeous stones on their own but not so much together, IMO. Have you considered a charcoal-colored granite or quartz? We're pairing leathered Steel Gray (aka Silver Pearl) granite with leathered Bianco Romano; the Steel Gray granite compliments the blue-gray veining of Bianco Romano and because it's a "quiet" stone, it lets Bianco Romano be the star, as it should be. Here's an image of our 2 stones with tile choices. It was taken at the stone yard so the lighting is a bit flat. I also looked at Caesarstone Pietra Gray but since it's a warm gray, it didn't work as well with our other color choices but check it against your counters since each slab of BR is unique. Some of the soft gray quartzes may also work. I also think BR would look good with stainless steel counters. SS is often paired with Carrara marble and BR is considered a good granite sub for marble. Here are two inspiration pics for you: BR with Caesarstone Cinder BR with slate Good luck!...See Moreluv2bflyin
