Building a Home Fireplaces living room

Fireplace placement

We are building our dreamhome. I can't decide if the fireplace should be centered on the large wall or in the corner of that wall and window wall. I'm thinking the fireplace centered is the best layout. The TV in that 6 foot space to the left. I don't want the tv as the focus. thoughts?

I'm not a fan or corner fireplaces. I think current location is best.

It is in a very bad spot you would be much better off the have it in between big windows where you have the view since then you just have one focal point

Looks like your layout is best considering the glare on your tv and the space you have. I might try your ZZ plant and stand over by the fireplace in front of the electric plug. Art that you love above your fireplace would still help distract from the odd placement, it is what it is. I wouldn’t add anything on the mantel seeing that you have shelves flanking your table area. If this area is the entrance for you and guests, I also think the floor mirror should be moved, maybe you have a spot in your bedroom. Is this your first apartment?, it looks cozy and bright. You’ve got some cool things, too bad your record player didn’t have a better location so the wiring is hidden.

A fireplace in the middle will restrict how you can use the space, especially for entertaining. OTOH, everything jammed into one half of the patio doesn't work either. Can you find a much smaller fireplace that doesn't dominate the space? Maybe skip the TV or mount it on the wall? Or can a slim fireplace go up against the wall?
