Glass Front Entry door with Sidelights
Comments (5)LOL! I get the willies knowing everyone can see in too. Okay, here's the thing. As much as I'd like to just change out the door and might very well end up doing it in the end, the "glass" in the doors is actually leaded crystal custom made by the original owner and they sparkle and look very beautiful. It would ruin the appearance of the doors by putting blinds or that sort of thing over them. Since posting last night, I checked out a drapery book and saw some very nice heavy drapes on rings that can easily be pulled to both sides. I don't have a lot of room on either side of the door so the sidelights would probably be partially covered even with the drapes open. If someone will give me a tip on how to insert a piccie into a message without having to switch to the gallery, I'll gladly scan it to show everyone. Thanks for your comments, I really appreciate it!...See MoreCloset doors a different color than bedroom and bathroom doors?
Comments (4)There are people who choose stained doors with white trim throughout their house. It looks ok, but not a choice I would make. I also wouldn't start mixing stained and white doors in the same rooms, unless you are really good with design and being able to make it look intentional, and not like you ran out of white doors. Why does your husband want stained doors?...See MoreImpact front doors different color than windows?
Comments (2)We have seen plenty of homes where the front door (full glass) is a different color than the rest of the windows. Since the window above the door is separated by a header and not mulled I don't see an issue with dual colors being used. Entry doors are always a safe place to go a different direction color wise....See MoreI am working on replacing the glass on my front door and sidelights.
Comments (1)I love front facing gable trim to “outline” the house. Don’t paint the metal roof! and don’t change the front door color. It’s the window trim which needs attention. Paint the window trim and all the trim the same as the metal roof. And the vinyl applied “vents” on each gable, those should be removed....See Moretypeandrun
