What Brand of Washer and Dryer Would You Recommend?
Comments (3)Trudysmom, thank you for finally posting in the right place. Now, however, you should grab a cup of coffee or tea or pop and sit down at your computer and start paging through the 67 pages of recommendations, warnings, and so on, in this forum. Many people have already posted their findings and their experiences; you should take advantage of them. It will be extremely difficult for us to make any recommendations for you or even to guess because you have given us no idea of your budget or any special requirements you may have (have to be able to wash king-sized comforters every week; DH is a mechanic; you live far from a big city; etc.). By the time you empty your cup or glass, you should be able to identify your must-haves, what you might want to spend, etc. One limiting factor for you -- and, therefore, a starting point -- may be which brands you can buy and have serviced locally. There's little point in buying a top-of-the-line gold-plated German Zaubermann if no one within 300 miles of you can sell or service it. Check your locals phone book's yellow pages and maybe make a few calls to find out which brands are carried in your area....See MoreWhich Model Tapmaster Do You Have - Would You Buy it Again
Comments (39)(Started new thread, should have added to this very helpful one). We find the foot lever is hidden under our standard toe kick right of center, it is easy to use and comfortable on bare feet. In my part of Florida, the cold water tap is rarely colder than 72 degrees, in summer it is closer to 80. I'm happy washing hands and produce and doing all other prep tasks, including light washing, with cold water only. So I saved a few bucks and had the tapmaster 1776 installed, after ascertaining that I could later use parts to convert it to a 1775 if it didn't work out. But it is working out great! I keep the (single) handle all the way over to "cold" and no water flows unless I "tap". If I wanted hot only, I could use the handle to get it. If I wanted a blend, I'd have to engage the tap and adjust the handle. The guy at conserve-a-store was happy to get the friendly and helpful folks from Canada on the phone when I called to inquire, and they all agreed it was worth a try. I'm enjoying this so much I may well need to get them for the cleanup sink and bathrooms....See MoreWhich brand of LVT would you buy & which would you stay away from?
Comments (14)As I said in my original post, our Mannington Adura is glue-down. The flooring company we used refuses to do a click-lock on LVP installs. Period. If a customer insists upon click-lock they will sell them the flooring materials but will not do the install. They said they have had too many complaints with click lock installs and it just was not worth the trouble for them. If you read install instructions for almost any flooring, having a level floor is critical. All of the mfgs specify their tolerances for uneven subflooring and they're mostly all very tight (narrow) ranges. I think a lot of DIYers forget or don't pay much attention to that. We had to, our flooring joists are wildly uneven and no free-floating floor would have worked....See MoreWhich of these two fertilizers would you use now?
Comments (21)Well normally most cherry varieties grow very fast, faster than other varieties. And Sun Gold tends to grow very, very fast IME. A 3 month old plant could easily be 3-4 foot tall. They usually get to 10' + tall and 4 feet wide. This one just appears stunted for some reason. In the pic there is no central stem growth tip yet I see it has a small cluster of blooms, smaller than the usual Sun Gold clusters and it has more of a determinate growth pattern with shorter internode lengths. I just have a feeling it may have been mis-labeld. May not be a Sun Gold at all. have to wait and see what the fruit looks like. Dave...See Moreakrogirl32
