I think it's a very nice style table, but I'm not sure it works with the crystal chandelier, which seems a bit formal for a farm table.

Another question is the size--when you place chairs around it, will there be enough room to maneuver? Will guests have enough room to move the chairs in and out without hitting the wall?

I like the juxtaposition of rustic and glam.

I’m with Diana - my first impression looking at picture was that the room is too formal for that table. Mostly though It‘s the balance or weight that hits me as off. Heavy, weighty table & light frothy chandelier. You could mix styles, formal & shabby chic, or rustic & glam as others describe the current look but the weight is off balance for me.

With those tables the first thing I suggest is to try sitting at the end mu guess your feet will end up on the base a very bad idea. As for the table in the space I think it really does not work with a crystal cahndelier and seems very heavy looking is a small space . IMO not rustic enought if you want that juxtapositon of glam and rustic and please shabby chic is so dead.

To me, decorating isn't about one room.

My sister's and I all have lovely homes (mine will be lovely someday when I finish renovations), but they are all very different. This piece would be far too heavy in my MCM home or my sister's contemporary home. It would not fit the bill for my other sister, as she has ornate carved wood throughout her home. My one sister in law has a home where this style might work, but it is too large for her space. She has country decor, plaid sofa, rustic wood furnishings.

What is in the rest of your home? How does it fit with the overall feel of your home?

Would you rather keep the chandelier or the table? Then go from there.

I like ‘Rustic Glam’ too. You can use the table if you go softer on the chairs.

IMO you have to ask yourself the next question before you decide if the table is correct............what type of chair to you select that complements a table base like that? I fear the chairs will be so heavy in scale that they will overwhelm your room.

Thanks everyone! I love the chandelier, so I definitely want to keep it. This is a new house, so we don’t really have any furniture to play off of. We’re just building the space.

It has the same floors, and the upper color on these walls is carried throughout the room. This is the room behind the wall

We do not have the stools. Those are no longer in the space. We also want to replace that light fixture.
