Interior Entry Basement Pocket Door Dilema
Comments (1)Hi, cflaherty. Seems you've landed your architectural dilemma on 'The Laundry Room Forum'! ;~) While we have some very talented folk here, don't know if they know much about remodels?...See MoreEntryway dilema
Comments (12)Agree with grapefruit and qam and Diane. Use the doorway as the frame that they suggest. You could start with a little vignette in the viewable corner like grapefruit details. It doesn't take much. Move the current items in the doorway view to either the other side of the room or find another home for them, This is the room at your entry right? So it forms the first impression of your home. Here are a few insp pics showing small vignettes that work IMO ^Small but with big impact. I don't know your style, this is just an example of chair, lamp, side table, rug and pillow. That's all you need facing the door. The items you choose will showcase your style. And you can get some of these or similar items at target if you are on a budget. ^Or you could do the writing desk and chair with rug and lamp. Very simple like you had planned in the beginning. Two chairs and a side table with lamp in front of the windows would be very inviting. You don't have to go high end if you are on a budget....See Morestaircase entry/hallway/entryway lights
Comments (2)What is your style/style of your furnishings? Is the staircase fixture the same as the entry fixture? If it is, and you like that finish/style, a quick fix would be to get rid of the boob light in the hallway and move the staircase fixture to the hallway. If you want different fixtures altogether, choose a semi-flush mount fixture for the entry and the flush mount version of the same fixture for the hallway. Then pick out a larger complimentary pendant or chandelier for the staircase....See MoreConsidering adding pocket doors to the hallway entrances...too weird?
Comments (32)Adding pocket doors to hallway entrances isn't bizarre at all; it's actually a smart and stylish solution for managing noise in homes with open floor plans. These doors can be seamlessly integrated into your home's design, especially when chosen to match or complement the existing interior. Stained wood doors, for instance, can add a touch of elegance. Besides being functional for noise control, they also offer flexibility in defining spaces. Just ensure they align with the overall style of your home to maintain aesthetic coherence....See MoreHU-187528210
