All-Refrigerator/ All-Freezer: Frigidaire, Electrolux, Icon
Comments (20)We have the Kenmore Pro ones (like these) which I think are made by Frigidaire. (?) We've only had them installed for 2 months, but before that they sat for 2 years in our dirty garage -- long story -- so we were a little worried about how they would work after sitting for all that time but bottom line, no problems, and we're thrilled with them. For the price they can't be beat. There are two slightly odd things about them however. One is that there's no meat drawer, which I was used to in our other fridge and I do miss that. There are two HUGE drawers which I love having, but we fill one with fruits and the other with veggies, so then I just have meat on one the shelf above the drawers, which is okay but I would rather have a drawer for it. The second odd thing is that the shelf structure above the drawers are actually attached to the drawers themselves and they don't seem to come off for cleaning. The glass itself lifts out, but the surrounding shelf frame doesn't detach from the drawer (at least that we could figure out!) which makes it awkward for cleaning as you can't just turn it upside down into your sink and dump out fallen particles. Those are very minor inconveniences for the space and convenience (especially the freezer space which is incredible), and overall I love these appliances and I would get them again in a heartbeat....See MoreFrigidaire Professional Refrigerator and Freezer
Comments (4)We have them, they are over 2 years old and no problems so far. Note that they are a tiny bit noisy if you are looking for total silence - but not any worse than our built-in under counter VinoTemp wine fridge for reference. I am not sure any modern fridge or freezer will be completely silent anyways. The Trim kit makes it look a lot nicer, and for the price they are hard to beat. I figure if they fail at some point down the road I can afford a new one or 2 compared to the price of some of the more designer brands....See MoreFrigidaire Professional Refrigerator
Comments (1)I have the Frigidaire Professional FPHC2399KF. It is the counter depth size and is a side by side. It is a lovely refrigerator but here are some comments for consumers: -- I had some problems with the vegetable drawers getting too cold and freezing the edges of my lettuce and other veggies, so I had to turn the temp up to 40. The factory setting is 37. -- The side by side is small. Nearly 1/2 of the interior is veg/fruit/deli drawers. I had to take out some of shelves to fit in milk and other tall containers & bottles. -- The drawers are cheap. Fortunately I am the only one using the fridge, but if I had a family, I have a feeling they would be broken within a year. Make sure you slide them in and out at the store to see what you think. It may be that I just need to put some soap on the edges to make them slide better. -- The lights are kind of funny. They are on a dimmer and when you open the door, it goes from dark to light. It doesn't bother me, but one of my friends said it would drive her nuts. -- The freezer is great. -- I have the exterior water/ice in the door, and the cup press seems like it could get damaged easily. I have seen some on other fridges that are more sturdy. I am still glad I bought this fridge. This is the only stainless steel counter depth side by side that I could find that I liked....See MoreElectrolux vs Frigidaire ALL Freezer/Refrigerators
Comments (5)We were able to find the Frigidaire All freezer/frig combo in stock and on display at a appliance store about 70 miles from us - we drove up, took a look at them, and bought them. They are in storage right now, so I have no idea how they will work once installed, but we were impressed with them enough to buy them. Comparing the specs of the Elextrolux, and seeing what looked like more reported problems with them, we were happy to go with the "lower end" Frigidaire. Time will tell if we were right! The other plus is the Enegry Star rating, and the ice maker (we didn't want a water dispenser)...The ice maker is the simple type in the top corner and takes up little space. The best is the price for how much space you gain....See MoreCherie
