Ever Had This Happen?

We were sprucing up our home and decided to order new carpet. I went to a store with a good reputation and a large stock. I chose a sample I liked and ordered it. This was a LOT of carpet, covering a large living room, dining room, stairway and hall.
In due time the carpet was delivered and installed. As I looked at I began to wonder how I had chosen such cheap looking carpet, but decided I'd have to live with it. Then one day i remembered that I still had the sample from which I had ordered. I found the sample. Lo and behold! It wasn't the carpet on our floors.
I took the sample to the store and they agreed that it was the wrong carpet and reordered it, agreeing to remove what we had and reinstall the correct one.
In due time the truck arrived with my new order. I asked to look at it before they unloaded it. It was the same carpet that had been installed!!! So--back it went to the store.
I went to the store and chose a very different carpet which was delivered and installed. The store bent over backwards to make it right-discount, gift certificate, etc. Actually it probably wasn't their fault that the number on the sample was wrong.

6 hours agoDid you realize that this is posted to the Alpine Gardening forum? I'm thinking this is not the place you want this to be, although misdelivered mail order plants are relatively common, depending on the supplier :-)

Comments (16)It sure is amazing what we get when dealing with nature. Liz, most likely you have a composter in your pots. It's gross looking, but if your plants still look healthy then I wouldnh't worry about it. I know what you guys are dealing with when it comes to ants. They are horrible and have killed lots of potted roses on me in the past. Some very expensive roses. I was dealing with the same situation again this year and was going to look into ant traps. It's bad enough that they do their own damage, but they farm zillions of aphids too! I actually got on the ground once and watched them carry aphids back up into my plants. It's quit fascinating, but it still made me mad. Luckily, I have had lizards come to my rescue this year. Tons of little lizards. When I water they leap out of the pots. I was so happy to see them all because they have gotten the ants under control. Not totally eliminated, but minimal. Most of the lizards have moved on now, but I have a few very obese ones still hanging around. Interestingly I haven't seen any snails. Maybe the lizards got them too. Comments (9)ok, let's put all the posts together...since I think we're really all saying the same thing...LOL You left your window open during the strongest allergy time..thus allowing more pollen and such to enter your room. This will often lead to your nose getting stopped up and you having to substitute mouth breathing during the night, which leads to a sore throat in the morning which will diminsh during the day. If closing the window itself doesn't help, you may want to talk to your doctor about a seasonal nasal spray unless you just want to tough it out until June. Coincidentally, I just had my 3 yr old at the Dr.'s for an a.m. sore throat for the last week or two; he looked in his nose said he didn't have a cold that it was allergies, didn't run any more tests just put him on Nasonex. I thought too it could have been reflux since he had a bad bout as an infant but, doctor said with the timing and season he was pretty sure it was allergies. Although if you have a reflux history, may want to consider that too. Good luck; I don't know where you are from but it seems like almost everyone around here is having problems the past couple weeks. Comments (59)This happened to me years ago and although it’s an old thread, I wanted to comment in case it help anyone. I experienced the same symptoms as most on this thread- I went to see all kinds of specialists but when I finally went to my general doctor, he fixed me. Literally made a difference in 15 min. He is a general practitioner but also certified to do manipulations which is different than a chiropractor. He did tests to see if I may have MS or carpel tunnel. But those target specific fingers. He then made me stand up and checked my back. BOOM! I had three ribs out of place. Finally after 6+ months of my right hand tingling and bruising, I had an answer. Dislocated ribs sometimes don’t cause pain BUT if they pinch the right nerve, it can cause all the symptoms to your arm and fingers. Popped blood vessels etc. he adjusted me (again, different from a chiropractor) and within 15 min I felt relief in my arm hand and fingers. Now, anytime I feel tingling, I go see him and sure enough, my rib is out. People can displace ribs with a sneeze. Sometimes it causes pain and other times you can’t even tell. Comments (5)Welcome to the stomach flu. It is going around like mad now. You will have a slight fever with it. Drink lots of fluids and get rest, it will take a few days to get over. There is a small chance of food poisoning, it has the same symptoms, but no fever. Same treatment. I found the anti-diarrheal pills work very well but will dehydrate you, so drink lots of water or Gatorade. If you don't feel better Monday, call your doctor.
