The stone is very cold and the wood is very warm. I think I'd select a different stone. The middle white section looks a bit stark as well.

Thank you! I was thinking that too. The only countertop color I can think of is black and I was afraid that would be too dark.

You need to place your cabinet samples against the slab in the same setting, not try to compare two separate photos with different lighting.

Wait until you have the cabinets installed/painted (whatever you are doing) and the cherry shelving and then select your counters and then once the counters are in select the backsplash. This will make it a much easier process for you as you see each element in your own lighting and space and will be able to visualize it better as you make each selection. You also need to consider how your flooring works with your selections.

I did bring the sample to the countertop slab. I know the pictures are not the best! The designer at the countertop place said the quartzite had both warm and cool whites and would work.

The "designer" at the countertop place has one job - sell you countertops. She doesn't care if it works or not. It's not her place, it's your place. It is very unlikely that she is a designer. More likely she is just a sales rep with a designer title.

I agree with Design Girl up thread - it doesn't work with that new slab you chose. Select something else.

forget your tile for now. you shouldn't even consider a tile until everything else is in. tile is a lot easier to change than slabs of stone. Plus, I don't like that tile choice w/your white sample. they don't work well. hold off on the backsplash.

i don't think that slab is too cool for the cherry. the bluer tones work w/the cherry color.

The warm white is another issue. Warm whites tend to have yellows in them. Unless you're doing a warmer gray/white. If so, then your countertop choice will work.

Blue roma would look nice

comes in a warmer tone. Roma Imeriale

and would look great w/the white cabs

Fusion would work too

or do something like this:

Silestone Charcol Eternal on the white cabs,

and if there is an island, do something diff.
