Help!! Question about Plumbing Leak

Our water bill tripled this month, and meter is spinning even when main water valve is shut off. Water company tech indicated the leak could be anywhere on our property.

In an effort to locate the leak, I am turning valves off one at a time and then checking to see if meter is still spinning. So far, no luck.

However, one question - when I turn the valves off underneath one sink, hot water still runs out a bit (even after letting it run 30 min). Would this indicate a leak?? If so, would the leak be big enough to have tripled our water bill? Or maybe I just didn't turn the valve hot enough...?

We have a plumber coming tomorrow, and a leak detection agency is scheduled to come if they determine it's underground. (This isn't our first rodeo -- we had a huge slab leak repaired seven months ago.) I am just hoping to find a few answers in the meantime to ease my worry!! Thanks for any help you can provide.
