What do you mean by "paint grade", though? Those look painted. Are they just primed and not yet painted? If that's the case I guess they need to be sanded hard before painting.

Hi Fori. Paint grade relates to the wood itself. The island (dark) is stained, that maple is stain grade. The paint grade maple is supposed to be smoother, and it actually costs more than stain grade. the white cabinets were all painted in factory. They are diamond distinction series, the top of line line diamond Line (not the Lowe’s stuff) here are so additional pictures

So the paintgradeness isn't the issue. The crappy paint job is. (I was just confused by your terms--I would just call that "painted" and consider paint grade to be something yet to be painted!)

That's really bad. Those should not have been accepted at delivery (although delivery people don't tend to sit around while you check) and really should not have been installed. At the very least, you need new doors.

That's bad. They don't look finished. Are they installed? Hopefully it's a brand with a good warranty and it's easy to get all new doors. We have the "lowes stuff" you mentioned and had zero issues.

Yes, they have been installed, painted in factory. The kitchen isn’t finished yet, but I think I absolutely need to address this before we move forward.

We had lots of difficulties with the painted and glazed finish on our cabinets. We had a rep for the cabinet company come out numerous times to look at the issues and we complained so much he basically replaced every door or trim piece we requested. Ours were also partially installed when we realized the issues (some were not noticeable until installed next to each other) I do not think you should settle for that quality. Some looks like a bad paint job and others look like the wood had too many imperfections prior to painting.. I was convinced there was absolutely no quality control on the finish process of our cabinets. Don’t settle, fight for better quality!
