Opinions please! What color floors go with dark brown cabinets?
The tile in my kitchen is cracked so we want to change it to wood floors and want to have the new floors go throughout my house without a transition strip in the dining room (so we will be removing the dark wood in the dining room as well). But I am struggling to find the right color floor - because we don’t have a ton of natural light and I don’t want it to be too dark. Any thoughts or recommendations? Do we go with a lighter floor like the color of the tile? Or dark?

3 years agolast modified: 3 years agoHow far does the hardwood extend on the rest of that floor. I would find out if you can find the same hardwood that is in the dining area, extend it into the kitchen and refinish the whole floor in a light color. Although I do like the darker floors. However, I would not rip out a good hardwood floor, just extend it and finish in a color throughout that you like.

Comments (7)I love it and think it will look great! I had the same concerns... we have dark espresso cabs, just like yours, and we have soapstone countertops. I thought it would be too dark, but my husband really wanted black tops. Once they were installed we were both surprised at how much we loved the look of the un-oiled, gray counter, which looks very much like your color. Comments (3)I had yellow river installed about 2 weeks ago. I love, love, love it!!! It took me about 6 months to find slabs I would be happy with. Some of the slabs had too much orange in them. Others had not enough of the blue river. It took 3 slabs to do my kithcen and butler's pantry. My perimiter cabinets are cherry and my island is cream. Comments (11)I'm so happy I could help you gs r. I would say your best bet for budget friendly custom draperies would be to find a local seamstress that works out of her home. Check Craigslist under services/creative. Make sure they share examples of their work with close ups. Not everyone that advertises really knows what they are doing. If you can see their work in person first, that's even better. If you find panels you like retail, a good seamstress would be able alter them to be one wide panel. I've done that before with lined panels. It's saves a lot of time and time is money so that could be very budget friendly. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.
