Never had the desire but I do now have two cats that fit quite nicely with the halloween vibe. Two weeks ago I heard claws on the open back door and meows. I had thought perhaps someone had sneaked back out. No. It was about a 6 week old kitten with short dark brown with an overlay of autumn colors. Her facial colors make her look like she is angry. Eleven years ago another long hair with similar colors wandered in after being dumped. I keep wondering if the kitten is the multi great granddaughter of her since she had recently had kittens but was ready for her second batch.

No pets now and never costumes, but...a squirrel is intent on decorating our front porch for Halloween, using bits of the pumpkins and corn displays put up by our next door neighbor.

No costumes.....but I did once have some slip-on batwings that a former dog loved to wear, Halloween or not!

My dog is sporting a sweater this morning as he spent yesterday at the groomers after a very long delay for several reasons and is feeling the chill on his newly shorn self :-) I swear he is half his former size and 10 pounds lighter! Nothing worse than a badly overgrown Cocker in the middle of a shed! Sweaters or coats is as far as I go, though.

A post about a pets Halloween costume got ugly! Wow I missed that or I probably wouldn't have posted but I'm new to pet ownership and thought Cappy looked cute as a Gnome! I'd just love to see pics of other pets dressed for the occasion!

Actually, 50+ yrs ago, I had a costume for my cat and I took her trick or treating to a friend's house, but for the life of me, I can't remember what her costume was. I was very young.....and I do remember what my mother said about it...."You need a baby."

Actually it was a post about dressing up pets in general. I don't mind, I'd love to see photos!

CousCous was a lion and Frances was a lopsided bat.

Pretty sure my dogs would chew them off themselves. lol

Cappy sure is cute, but looks a little ticked off, ha ha. My dogs, especially my bischon, hate wearing coats of any kind but it gets cold here in the fall and winter so the little brat just has to put up with them. You should see her, though, giving me dirty looks after I put them on her.

Not for Halloween, but we do have plushy fake fur with jingle bells soft neck wreaths for Christmas.

Sam (as did Harry) gets so excited when he hears the bells. He begs to wear it anytime he sees it.

I got it out yesterday to add a couple bells and spiff it up for December. Of course, he had to wear it.

And for the Ghost of Christmas past, Harry wearing his happy wreath. He would prance and wiggle to keep the bells ringing.

P.S. In normal years we always have several of doggos coming along with their human Trick-or-Treaters. I don’t remember any costumes.

I keep little Zip-Loc baggies filled with small Milkbone Treats for them. Any leftovers go back into Sam’s treat jar.

Sleeperblues..Cappy is half Bichon and half Cocker Spaniel! He won't wear the hat that goes with the costume but tries to eat it!!

I guess some people think it's mean but my dog loves stuff like that. She also loves being brushed and having her nails trimmed, being flea combed and having her teeth brushed. To her, it all means she gets a treat so it's all good. HAHA!

Sammy used to have sweaters that he liked to wear. And an Alabama jersey for game days. The jersey wasn't warm so he was indifferent to that but he used to bring his sweaters for me to put them on.

This was a few years ago.... our vet clinic used to have a Halloween party for their clients.

I love all the costumes. I don't have any pets at the moment but I'm sure a cat will adopt me sooner or later.

I'm sure my son and future DIL have multiple Halloween costumes for their little Pug named Link. He is always well dressed for every occasion.

None of my pets had costumes. Short of a collar or harness they hated anything else and would tear it off. What pets do like is attention, being fussed over, pleasing humans and treats. If they have to wear human clothing to receive the above then they will tolerate it.
