I see we have similar tastes...I've bought some of those same ones, too (from the same sellers, I'd bet)...I hope you do follow through as it will be very interesting to follow along with you! Like your site very much! Good luck with everything...this is my third year with seedlings and I've enjoyed it very much...quite a bit of work, though.

The things that you have chosen are all tallish and narrow and are fireplace-specific. By that I mean they don't carry through the room. The fireplace is rock which is also weighty but your accessories, including the ones on the mantle are holding their own. You have orange in your windowsill vase and I think in your table lamp as well and both your table lamps have green in them. I would get a tall weighty vase with those colours in them, perhaps something in a pottery. You could also add something with a sparkle to give more texture to the room. I don;t know if this would work, but could the speaker be put into a basket that is turned on it's side so that the opening is facing out. It would help to disguise it and again add some texture to the area. Then put a pic or a framed mirror above the fireplace that is hung as high as the window wall. It looks like you have some serious ceiling height going on in that room but all of your accessories seem to be on the shorter smaller side but without a full room pic it's hard to tell if they are getting lost in the room.

Yesterday, I made a quick stop at Home Depot and came up with nothing to use as a finial. Today, I went to a woodworker's store not too far from where we live and tried the smallest wood finial they had. It was 2" tall, almost like a younger cousin of the ones I removed. I tried it on the chair and it seemed too thin. Not the look I'm going for. Then I found something there called screw hole buttons. I did also look on line, but again, the selection in something smaller was very limited. Comparing the size of what I can find on line to what I tried in the store, I think they're all going to be too 'wimpy'. Ideally, the finial would be about 1" - 1 1/4" wide and about the same measurement in the height. I'm not sure they exist. At this point, my plan is to plug the hole with the wood screw hole buttons and get on to painting the chairs. I figure since I'm going to paint the chairs, I can always change out the buttons to some type of finial if I EVER find something appropriate. So........now I'm going to need a little advice on painting the chairs, but for that I will start a new thread. Thanks again, EVERYONE, for all your responses!

There are absolutely no pluses about building with stellar. 2 years later after moving into our house we regret ever falling for the sales spiel. We already spent over $500 000 on that house that was built to poor standard that the real estate agent we asked to value our house said that we would be better off pulling it down and starting again rather than selling and moving. We should have raised voice when we observed that they didnâÂÂt use gravel to elevate the foundation before they dug the trenches. Again we had to spent a lot of money on replacing the vinyl windows because they start to rotten after a season. We were really disappointed by realizing how low quality products were used by them. We had to spend another $1000 dollars for the widow replacement since we hired window choice (Mississauga) for all the works. Polaris might be a good option for you so consider them. While selecting a window replacement Company, be so sure about their reputation so that you will not have to regret afterwards.
