See my seedlings on my new website!

OK... see my seedlings in a couple of years!

I am a webmaster, so a website to keep track of my crosses would be overkill for most people, but that's my line of work and that's what I do.

I have created a list of the crosses I have bought for this year and what my plans are with these crosses. When the plants begin to bloom, I will photograph them and post their pictures underneath those of the parents.

I think it will be fun for visitors to see the whole range of seedlings that may arise from a given cross.

It will motivate me to take pictures and document the results. I hope you will enjoy it. When I begin to put pictures of the progeny, I'll drop in the forum once more and post the link again.

I think that's a great idea Chantal. There have been lots of people asking about a site that could show them the results of crosses. I don't have mine on a website, but I have posted threads with as many as 10 to 12 sibs from the same cross to show the variation in the seedlings.
You've got some great parents in the seed you've purchased and should get some wonderful seedlings. Can't wait to see them.

Sweet! My thinking was, *I* would like to see that.

Now I have to locate the threads where you posted your results, I'm dying of curiosity.

Jan, YEP, that too was the day it snowed in Palmdale. My older son Sean was in Palmdale that day and told me about that. I know some who really GET snow are laughing at me---but to me that IS snow even though it didn't stay. Good for you getting your baking done! I'm in the process of finishing up a whole lotta glass flowers for selling this Saturday and a friends vendor sale. I've come up with a new display and now I have a big truck to put more of them in! :-)I took some photos of the finished ones yesterday and hope to post them soon. I'll be getting work/teacher gifts wrapped and the Christmas letter all printed up today. I still cannot believe it is December. It didn't seem like November was here at all! why cant people see photos on my website?

The problem you have is that the links to the pictures are pointing to your hard drive. For example: canada_blk.gif is pointing to file:///D:/frontpagexpress/touchup%20attempt/canada_blk.gif, it should be just canada_blk.gif if it is in same directory as the html file. Also it doesn't look like the gif file is actually on the web site. At least not in the home directory of your web site. So you actually have two reasons why the pictures do not show on the web, but shows on your computer. 1. The link is incorrect, 2. The gif files are not on the web site. You said you used SmartFTP to upload the pages. You should use the publish from the File menu (I have Front Page, but I don't use it). That way I think it will resolve the links for you and get everything you need up to the web server in one shot. Also if you actually have a directory called 'touchup attempt', rename it so it does not have a space. Notice in the above example there is %20 (hex value of space) is in place of the space. Dan

I'll make it easy for you....lol...heres a link to my photo bucket album page containing all my seedlings from the cross of Tip And Nita x Royal Eventide. The seedlings are numbered and there are duplicate photos of some of the same ones, but you can see all the variations I got out of this cross. These were same pod sibs also.

I'll be adding some information about genetics - I am, after all, a retired geneticist.

Wow, that's a beautiful web page. I love the color choices, the layout, and your writing is conversational and fun to read. The whole concept is wonderful, and perfectly suited to this medium.

I see we have similar tastes...I've bought some of those same ones, too (from the same sellers, I'd bet)...I hope you do follow through as it will be very interesting to follow along with you! Like your site very much!

Good luck with everything...this is my third year with seedlings and I've enjoyed it very much...quite a bit of work, though.
