I need help lighting master bathroom please.
Comments (1)Some comments The fan should be placed well inside since the purpose is to reduce the humidity and odors. As the bathroom will be used at night as well, the solar tube will not add to the lighting at night unless you intend to have a light in the tube. Without knowing the light output of the various fixtures, it would be difficult to know whether there will be enough light. The vanity is the most important area to light well in a bathroom - correct color representation, no shadowing of the face from the light position....See MoreMaster Bathroom mirror/lighting design help
Comments (6)Hi Nicole -- I would recommend 4 sconces...You have a fair amount of space (2ft) between sinks and I think 4 will give you the best functionality. If you had 3 sconces, the middle light might not be equidistance with the end sconce and the person standing at the sink. A 4th sconce would also give you equal lighting on both sides. With those illuminating your face, plus some overhead recessed lighting, I think you would have enough! -Myra...See MoreMaster bathroom mirrors and lighting
Comments (10)I have seen many sconces that match with single, double, and triple lights--same style, just single or multiple bulbs with a double (or triple) branch. Looking at your electrical box placements, though, for both vanities, it looks like you could use the same mirror for consistency but use up the extra wall space on the larger vanity by installing coordinating lighting with double-branch or wider sconces. I assume the larger vanity is for a person applying makeup and styling hair, so it would be nice to have extra lighting. I'm NOT a designer, so perhaps I'm off-base. You mentioned oil-rubbed bronze faucet/fixtures, yet I see brushed stainless cabinet hardware. Those look new. Will the mirrors have a metal frame or any metal hardware--what finish? Keep that in mind when selecting your mirror's and lighting's metal finish(es)--ORB or brushed stainless? Restoration Hardware offers a lot of single and double sconces in multiple finishes. Some look the same but are wider or more narrow, which might work for your bathroom. This style may be not what you like/look right, but here are examples: https://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod4370233&categoryId=cat10160023 https://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod1970010&categoryId=cat10160023 RH Wide Sconce RH Narrow Union Filament Sconce in Bronze (there is also a narrow "tall" version) They have many more traditional, industrial, or contemporary choices in various bulb configurations that match. I would, perhaps, consider sticking to brushed silver-toned faucets/towel rings since you have that on the hardware, already, and it would be easier finding a mirror to match. But, I know it's common to mix metals, so you should do what you like. (I'm doing all chrome in my Master Bath and chrome fixtures with aged brass lights and brass-colored cabinet hardware in my hall/kids' bath that has a navy vanity.) Good luck with your project--looks nice!...See MoreDouble vanity mirror design help needed for master bathroom.
Comments (5)Agree with Design Girl. Seems like a waste to cover up your wall tile with a "slab" of mirror. Arteriors has some more interesting mirrors. Not cheap, but I've gotten better prices locally. https://www.arteriorshome.com/shop/wall/mirrors Lots of mirrors at Uttermost too. https://www.uttermost.com/Mirrors-View-All/...See MoreBeverlyFLADeziner
