Your Favorite Le Creuset Piece/Or One You'd Recommend
Comments (22)I've seen some of the LC stuff and yes I like what I see but I thought the whole principle of the LC stuff was that they have the dimples on the underside of the lids to spread the moisture evenly over whatever is cooking. I've noticed in some of the stores that there are no dimples. Are some of the items being put out there cheaper to attract a larger audience? I ask this because I'd like to get some of the pieces, they always come up on the shopgoodwill auction but I don't know pricing what is a good deal or not and if they are all supposed to have the dimples. I use my lodge cast iron dutch ovens quite often. I also like the Dansk line of pots but would like to try LC, just don't want to pay alot for it....See MoreShow us your favorite room in your house
Comments (81)Love all your rooms inside and out! Here are mine. Our DIY kitchen that we are still working on( DH rather) and our front porch. I used the painters tarp and grommet ideas for curtains for the porch so now we can sit and watch the storm.I call it the "biggest little porch in town" You are looking at the whole thing in the photo, there ain't no more. But it is big enough for 3 to sit and the 2 dogs can lie on the porch with us. We have our morning coffee outside after our walks. I included photos from May when I had painted the free CL loveseat and made pillows so you could see the colors in a better light. I am just using grosgrain ribbon right now, I plan to make tiebacks out of the stripe canvas. Of course the roses arent blooming like that now....See MoreSwitch Track! Share Favorite White Kitchen! Comments (21)willow, Please share where you found your white Cabinets and your source for the white Subway Tile, Soapstone and Marble - We love it, also! boxerpups, You are so blessed to have so many great windows! There is no room in our kitchen for a regular table, most of our meals will be in the adjoining Dining Room. Love your white kitchen and those gorgeous floors, what are they and your counters? Great peninsula, you have it all! Also, what brand is your Range, maybe we can find one like yours in Electric. Wonderful moldings above the cabinets! Thank you for all of the Pictures! Well - as of TODAY we officially own our new, Old House, so exciting, almost cried! Will have the keys on Friday, and we will take the accurate measurements of the kitchen. There may be room for a small wood island or a little Bistro table, placed under that window, just have to see them in place! Rosie, Thank you so much for the terrific suggestions, about the dark colors, grounding the space. You all, are really helping us, please continue to offer all of your Ideas and Pictures! Just thought that you all, may have some opinion on our counters around the Range - we found, some very pretty: Imperiale Azul Quartzite/granite! Remember, we are intending to keep the Stainless Steel Counter-Top on the Sink side of Kitchen. So we are thinking about Granite or Soapstone for the Stove side - but we only need 2 small pieces and it is not sensible or feasible to purchase an entire slab, right? Does anyone know where we may find any smaller pieces of Stone, HELP? And do you all have the Sources for any of the lovely Marble Back Splash Tiles? Will it be OK to use a marble Back Splash with a granite counter? The metal square tiles above our SS Counter-Top/Sinks, will be removed, I hope it is easy - then the same Back Splash will be used on the Sink side of room. DH says that, the Selection of Electric Range may be dependent on the Counters and Back Splash! polkadots, You sound like us, we have a difficult time selecting just one Wood! shelayne and blondi, Wow I really know how you feel! Any luck finding your light? runningplace, you have the new cabinets, I am jealous - what brand are they, we still have not selected ours! dianalo, Thanks, your input is always welcome here - just curious, How would you use, these white Steel Cabinets in your design? Yes, rookie's Kitchen & House are Amazingly Beautiful! Did I ever mention that we must put up a fence in the backyard for our Miniature Poodles! Does anyone have a fence that their Dog will not escape, our little girls are still of the breeding age - our Lovey is the daughter of our Mia - just had to keep one puppy, right! Mia had six beautiful, healthy babies! People are still calling us to find another one of her Pups! We are considering her for a second litter, just love the little ones, so adorable and smart! Our Son owns the Chocolate brown, Mini Poodle, father! And Mia is a perfect Mother! Thank you all again for all the great Pictures & Ideas, hope we can find some smaller pieces of Stone, soon, any Ideas for any sources? roseofblue...See MoreFavorite feature in your kitchen?
Comments (68)Very hard to pick just one favorite feature! If I have to pick just one working feature, it would be the lowered work space on the end of our island. It is exactly the right height for me for prepping, baking, etc. and it is also a great height for many of our kids. I'm five feet tall, and it is so nice to have a work space that works for me! The layout works well, too, as my dh chooses a different part of the island, so if both of us are in the kitchen, we are not bumping into each other. The end of the island that is lowered is across from the sink and dishwasher, and I love having drawers in that section for all the dishes-even my three year old can empty most of the dishwasher, and no one is hauling chairs into the kitchen to get or put away dishes. The big windows are probably my other favorite-adding big windows makes that whole end of the house so much brighter and enjoyable to be in. Having big windows rated higher than most everything when coming up with a layout for our new kitchen....See Morefunctionthenlook
