Need ideas for empty wall space
Comments (15)A piece of furniture- console, buffet, etc. and art above. It’s not a boring spot. I’m sure you know this but art doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Actually I recommend against it. My most expensive piece of art is in my attic. I can’t bring myself to get rid of it quite yet. My most enjoyed pieces are from second hand stores, originals, and very inexpensive. Favorite one is a large framed oil pastel that was $4....See MoreAny advice on filling empty spaces?
Comments (17)It's either a joke, a stupid question, or the op is looking for a neat and tidy way to get rid of junk for which there seems no purpose, in a space that appears to be a cross between a mud entry and an office and a junk room. Which, please. What is the PURPOSE of the space, because sad to say more ugliness is not needed, right? What does the door LEAD to? A garage? A hallway?...See More7ft empty space/ design ideas needed
Comments (8)(not a pro) What is on the other side of that blank wall? Is that a pool outside, and does the patio extend behind that blank wall? Do you have an outdoor kitchen / entertaining area? IMO this is very subjective to you, what you seek in your home, and if you plan to entertain outside. Lots of great art to show off? Yearn for a creative expression in your home? Make it a spot for a huge piece of art, and plan for some lighting to show it off. Love to entertain? Planning to host outdoor pool/patio parties? If so, it would be nice to have a beverage center with a pass through, sliding window above. Hand me my blender drink! Seeking peace and solitude? Are you a reader? Maybe a coffee and wine center flanked by bookshelves, or a window with a cozy window seat for reading; space for books below or as a small separation from the kitchen cabinets....See MorePlease Help with Creative Ideas for Small Empty Loft Space
Comments (14)@George S what do you need in your home? Storage space? Yoga space? Playroom? Kid camp-in place? What don't you have enough of in the rest of the house? Also, what are the environmental conditions there? Is the space heated, cooled, ventilated? Looks like there's a little heater in there? Can an adult stand up in the middle? Can a rowing machine for lengthwise? What are the key dimensions? Personally, I'd love to have storage space, because I have none…no basement, no article, and dinky closets. But you may already have more than you need. I have grown kids, and even my grandkids wouldn't be interested anymore. I would love exercise space but only if it's air-conditioned and ventilated. For storage, you could put big things along the low walls or you could install shelving there and still have a little stool to sit on in the middle while you sort or search. I'm guessing this is a house new to you, and the previous occupants had kids? Or is this your kids' artwork?...See MoreLove M
