I don't see this as such a problem. The valance and curtains are on a tension rod, so they can just be moved out. Roman blinds are typically mounted on a board using L brackets to mount it to the wall. I'm sure if the new window caused an issue, you could figure out a way to mount them to the ceiling instead and the mounting would still be covered by the valance. But more than likely you can just get larger brackets or space the existing brackets out by an inch using a block of wood behind the brackets. For the shade, typically they come with either an inside or outside mount. You may just need to get new hardware, or get a little creative with how to mount it for the new window. I'm sure it can be done with a few dollars worth of screws and brackets and a little inventiveness. You are, at some point, going to have to take it all down and see how it went together before you can figure out a new approach.

your shade has metal rings on the back and cords that go thru the metal rings? correct? Carolyn

Raehelen, I forgot to answer your questions. Sorry, I was just so excited to get exactly the answer I needed from Bill! The tiles are beautiful, aren't they? And from the colors you described in your kitchen, they'd probably look awesome! The tiles are stained glass, kind of milky white with streaks of the colors you mentioned (no two tiles are alike). They're from ElysEdwards Glass and Tile, although I bought them through a showroom. They're made in Italy. You won't find much by googling the name (I've looked), but email me and I can give you contact info. My kitchen photos don't do them justice, but the separate photos I took just of the tiles are as close to real life as in-person. I actually have an overload of them and took the photos to post an ad on Craigslist.

Steve's Blinds online FOR SURE. Can't recommend them enough! Done this in a lot of windows. Roll shades and Roman Shades in gorgeous fabric. Order sample fabrics. DIY measure, order, install. Or they can install. They look beautiful, fit nicely, great sturdy materials, construction, and a SUPER value. Even got some long pull chain ones for our celestory window because we didn't want another remote to lose lol. Super easy to pull up and down. We had those installed by our handyman, no more ladders lol. Yes we had some 70 inch windows too.
