Coffee table advice
I’ve attached photo of our family room-we have honey oak floors (I think?), repose gray walls, a rustic-looking fireplace with a gray-toned wood mantel, and a blue couch and brown lounger, the latter two with Mocha-colored legs. However, I’m wondering weather the cool toned wood will clash with the floors even though it would likely look nice with everything else. We may eventually get a rug and stain the floors but not anytime soon. I’m not too keen on warm-toned woods and prefer the modern/rustic style as opposed to traditional. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance!

3 years agolast modified: 3 years agoHow is having your back to the other people in the room working for you? You might want to consider an alternate layout. Chaise lounges take up so much room. Even a recliner or chair will ottoman is more flexible. This table you like appears to be out of stock.
Will you eventually have more seating in the room? You might want to consider a square coffee table instead so more people can reach it.

Comments (11)I'd suggest you get a slim console for the TV 12"- 15" at most and definitely get a smaller coffee table or skip it altogether and add a side table. I've created a mock up of your space to help you visualize this better. I also think you could move the bookcase to the corner by the window and move one of your accent chairs to create a window seat. 3 years agolast modified: 3 years agoA rug would give you more leeway with your floor and the type of color in wood that you would like to bring in. A rug could help you to bridge the gap.
However, if you have children, consider using an ottoman style in a coffee table. Or at least do a rounded shape, so there are no sharp corners. On an ottoman style, there are no sharp corners, so a square or rectangle would be OK.
As one example, I think this ottoman could probably have a little bit more padding; but it is definitely better than zero padding, if there are young children afoot.
