console and coffee table advice

I’m trying to figure out what depth and style of console would work in this space. I need to find something that will hide my modem and tv cable box. I can’t move modem somewhere else and can’t put tv box in wall because kitchen right behind wall. The console needs to have cabinets but then this means the console needs to be fairly deep which makes me wonder if the space will feel too cramped with the coffee table. Is the coffee table too big for the space?

Btw the blue tape on wall behind couch is where we plan to add bookshelves.

I'd suggest you get a slim console for the TV 12"- 15" at most and definitely get a smaller coffee table or skip it altogether and add a side table. I've created a mock up of your space to help you visualize this better. I also think you could move the bookcase to the corner by the window and move one of your accent chairs to create a window seat. Might make a nice reading corner.

It’s a 65” Samsung frame tv. It’s already hanging in the pic. I can get the measurements for the wall tomorrow but just by estimating I would say somewhere between 92-95”

"What is wrong with having a couple of matching items in a room?" Just my opinion of course, and worth every penny! ;-) In general - no, matching isn't bad, and there's nothing wrong with suites of matching items. But IMO, there are some things that are better matched than others -- for example, simple sofas or chairs, traditional tables, light fixtures. But pieces that are supposed to look 'unique' or 'one of a kind' should not have an exact match. Those would include Oriental rugs (close is OK - exact says 'mass produced'), quirky or exotic pieces, 'hand-made' items. Splitting them so that they're not within each other's sightlines would mitigate the match -- possibly completely.

@Patricia Colwell I should mention the bottom picture is what it looked like staged. The furniture we have is different, I have attached pictures. (Please note the dinning chairs will be different and this was first side console table we got, which would be too small for the afomentioned art-work). If you believe those above mentioned console tables looks too busy, could you point me to models you think may be appropriate?

The wall is 99”. I don’t have a brand in mind...I’m a little picky regarding material. I’d prefer mostly solid wood so that is why I was looking for vintage. I like room and board because they do use solid wood but don’t necessarily love their style but it’s fine.

I have to say that I love the rug. It’s special, but with the sectional on it, its beauty is wasted. Any other spot for it? Dining room?

I would not do a book case. Space is tight as it is so I suggest combining a book case into an entertainment piece. West Elm has several choices which you can design yourself.

JudyG, I totally agree about the rug. We had a tan leather sofa there but I started to hate it so switched to this sofa which was in the playroom/tv room at the time. I can see how it looks with it in the dining area since the one I had their previous was too small to me.

Also, the bookcase are for the white space behind the sectional.

Oh wait I see what you are saying. You think no bookcase behind the sectional right? A combined bookcase would not work I don’t think as there is only 21 inches on each side of the tv and with the kitchen open on both sides the wall would appear cluttered I thought.

Styldod, thank you for this! Would it help if I included dimensions of the room? The area and couch are actually longer and I’m not sure end tables would work but I’m looking into c tables and already got a smaller coffee table.
