I also have the 45" sink, at the fabricators now, finally settled on the Kohler Vinetta faucet. It has a significant "spout reach", 9.5 inches, which essentially means the pot of water you are filling can be that far away from the faucet base while still sitting under the running water, (without having to use the pullout sprayer). My faucet will be centered on the entire sink, not the large bowl, another reason I needed a reach. rjr has this same sink and faucet with pictures posted. The kohler karbon looks like it can reach to the next room, but I needed more traditional look. Love the look though. I love Laura in Lincolns double faucets. Hope that helps. Donna

Ha, I asked this same question when I was buying my Duostrainers. I will give you the same answer I received: a chrome strainer will look just fine. My main sink is brushed stainless (Kohler) and I was worried about how bright the chrome Duostrainers looked next to it when they arrived. But once everything was installed, they looked perfectly normal. There is no need to spend the extra on stainless strainers in my opinion. My secondary sink originally had a less expensive strainer that my plumber provided, but when we had to reinstall the sink into a replacement countertop (another story), I changed that one out to a Duostrainer as well. It wasn't so much the function since we don't generally fill that sink up with water, it was that the Duostrainer looked so much better than the plumber's strainer. Even he commented on how beat-up his looked after just a short time in use. (He is a big fan of the Duostrainers; I just hadn't bothered to order one for the second sink the first time around.) So for looks comparison, it just depends on what the Ticor comes with, which is probably much nicer than the one I started with. Not knowing what kind of strainer it is, I can't compare function either, but I think the Duostrainers are just great. And that is coming from someone who thought $40 was a lot to spend on a sink strainer. I'm glad I bought them anyway.

We got the Delta Arctic Stainless and it goes great. I'm also not sure if it matters as much as I had thought, since the faucet sits above the sink and it catches way more light than the sink. I am pretty picky but my eye was never drawn to compare the two once they were installed. And I love my sink!
