oh mayflowers forgot to say that I like the idea of adding cabinets to back of peninsula area but was also thinking of having two backless bar stools with black leather seats there as well. Will have to think about the wainscoating and now that I look closely the area could use an update and it is scuffed up. the more we look the more we see that needs help with this house Ugh thanks so much Here is the living room, my carpenter is fashioning a pine wood free floating mantle as we speak, it will have oil on it and natural tones. We have sofa facing the fireplace that's a thin cordoroy material in a light blue/green and plan to have an accent chair against the other wall (the staircase wall) with perhaps some type of server or china cabinet over there, dining area is too small for china cabinet but might be able to have a behind the sofa credenza (for more storage) we also plan to have an area rug in front of the sofa. I am looking for a gray one with texture if I can find one. what do you think of those ideas? Right now the dining area has a work table we're using till we find what we want lol

Hello imcgh, I am trying to pick a similar color. I'm with kitchen detective... check out Pigeon by Farrow and Ball. I'm including a photo of one of my inspiration kitchens that I found online, which was done in Pigeon. (more pictures at link below) I had my Benjamin Moore dealer try to match Pigeon. The closest we got was 1482 (Sabre Gray) or 1559 (unnamed). I would recommend making large paint color samples and viewing them in your room along with your other material samples in your light. Thanks Crystalpea That is an interesting tile/back splash! What is it called... What is the Granite slab called? I was looking at Daltile subway tile in a biscuit color. Very simple... I don't think I can go with a big pattern as I really will not have much back splash area. Will definitely go up around window and take the corner shelfs out and paneling. Once I get the counter in than will get a better idea of back splash but it will be very simple subway or solid color no pattern...

I know. I saw a show on Oklahoma Catfish Noodling once on TV. I thought that everyone would think that all Oklahoma people were rednecks with no front teeth and that all went catfish noodling. Geez! I have never heard of Tiger King so I looked it up. Holy cow! Mullets, tattoos, piercings, missing teeth...that is what some parents look like. Some kids go to school with Mohawk haircuts and mullets still and are as proud as can be of those haircuts. Or reverse mohawks! Seriously! Yes, meth is bad in this part of the state, but probably all over Oklahoma in rural areas where law enforcement...well, I won't finish that comment! This is a republican, good-old-boy state! You probably know who they voted for president the last time. My electrician moved to another part of Oklahoma because of "too many druggies, deadbeats who won't pay, and the local sheriffs." His words, not mine. Thank goodness, most Oklahomans are not like the Tiger King.
