Porches & Decks Design Dilemma

Our beloved rescued kittens have torn up our old resin wicker furniture and we are ready to replace everything now. Needing seating for 6 at least. Would like both a conversation area (sectional?) and work/dining level table as well. There are four doors in this room which is in between the house and garage, which creates two “walkways” within the room. As far as color, looking for light, beachy, sophisticated.

Some thoughts:

--Any chance you can pull up the indoor/outdoor rug and paint the floor? What's underneath. If you can't paint the floor, then layer a light colored indoor outdoor rug in the living area. If you can paint it, say a lovely blue, then put a patterned indoor-outdoor runner connecting the two screen doors.

Consider getting a synthetic or wood frame with a very cushy seat cushions that you can pull off and wash. You could go wicker again unless you still have the cats.

To gain some space, consider building a long storage bench (for cushions in winter/rain) along the left wall with chairs pushed in.

Sectional looks fine, however, if you find it uncomfortable then by all means start shopping around. I prefer sofa and chairs because the intersection of the sectional's angles never gets sat upon. It's wasted space. You could also get two sofas of the same style and color. You seem to have the room for it. And put an end table with a lamp at the intersection. Just guessing the seating is uncomfortable because the support under the pillow is a frame without any springs.

Oh my gosh if that doesn't scream British Colonial, (or West Indies style) then nothing does! If you don't want to do circular furniture, then I would group a table and chairs in one area cushy seating in another..since the corner with the doors isn't really usable, I would have the part furthest from the house for a table and chairs, and the corner opposite the sliders for sofas/chairs... That leaves the part by the doors for meditation/yoga... I have a hunch that guests will gather here.. I can't tell what the floor is, but it looks like carpet? I would tile it and have sisal/jute and/or Persian rugs layered...

Here’s a larger view. Dining room is to the left and the living room is straight off the screened porch. There is a door of the dining room a sliding doors off the living room. How we envision using this space is as an extension of our living room primarily. DH likes to watch tv outside and we do like to eat outside as well but it doesn’t have to be in the screened porch. I would like to fit 6-8 outside in the screened porch as we do entertain quite a bit.
