Tile and granite don't match - help!!!!
Comments (25)Hi blondelle! Thank you so, so much for your detailed post/help with this tile/granite issue of mine! I actually didn't see your amazing photoshop picture before they did the grout (I have been MOVING all of our kitchen stuff in since that is just about done - and we want to be moved in before the kids go back to school!) --- but did ask my gc what he thought (from your advice in the 1st post) - he agreed - and they did it! It didn't turn out as tan as yours looks in the picture and we probably should have gone a bit darker - but it works = and really pulled the 2 together!!! THANK YOU! I will probably also change the paint once we are moved in. I agree, Susan631 - it was so kind and thoughtful of blondelle to take time to help like this. These forums are amazing! I have been helped so much on the kitchen site - with granite, backsplash, garbage disposal ... so many things! My house will be a much prettier place b/c of all of you! THANK YOU AGAIN BLONDELLE!!! I will post pictures soon! :)Sauceyc...See MoreHow do I find a bath designer? Calling all designers to weigh.
Comments (8)Thanks Leelee and SJ McCarthy, The tile place says they will exchange the polished tiles for the honed ones. I agree with both of you, if I do the same tiles on floor, wainscoting wall and shower it will look more cohesive. I have a lot of tiles that are almost plain white, I will use these for the wainscoting wall behind the freestanding tub. This will make the room look not so busy. The shower is in another room so I’m not worried about the tile mismatch anymore. The new honed tiles are from the same lot as the previous tiles so hopefully it’s the same tones, beige, gold and greens....See Moreslate tiles don’t match
Comments (10)Is this actual slate or a tile made to look like slate? I guess either way this comment will apply. Natural slate comes from different sources so often not the exact same look and man made tiles ar from different dye lots and there can be huge differences over time. You need to take a pic from further back showing the whole patio so we can get a feel for the space . Sometimes just a rug can break the look of mismatched floor....See Moretile & counter don’t match
Comments (1)Hmm- floor sure does not look gray on my device. it seems a good match to counter & has pinky / taupey tones. I’d say coordinate everything with counter & those items will go with floor. My bet is the floor has those tones that ”turn” into the colors of whatever is put with it.....See MoreUser
