Pictures of Rustic Bronze faucet with a gray countertop?
Comments (29)Thanks so much for all the feedback. Honeychurch, your pictures are gorgeous! That makes me feel so much better about considering a bronze finish! breezy, GD, the Moon Night at my slab yard does read rustic to me and my DH. That's what we love about it - it looks like a big slab of gray ROCK, but close up you see the lovely swoops and almost marbles look of the surface. When I see it in kitchen pictures, I like it better paired with wood stain than white cabinets - maybe because with the white it does look too upscale modern, too stunning, but with the wood it looks more like plain stone - except not so plain, and naturally gorgeous. Marcolo was kind to post a picture of the faucet finish, but since several have asked to see my other choices, I will include the actual pulldown faucet I mentioned, which looks quite a bit darker to me than the bathroom faucet from that collection. I don't have my heart set yet on any one particular fixture or hardware, though. But, my home has mostly brownish-bronze fixtures throughout, both on the furniture (and DR sideboard) and outdoor lights. There are few silver finishes in or around the house. First, a gratuitous shot of Moon Night: This is the hutch that the cabinets will be made to match as closely as possible: Faucet: Possible pulls and knobs - the fixed D bar also comes in a drop-pull version by a different company, but essentially the same look. These all come in a variety of nice finishes such as copper, iron, and pewter....See MoreMaking changes in the kitchen...
Comments (9)In reference to your dish towel to air dry pots/pans...I love that now my pots and pans air dry on my sink grid. We went with a really large and deep undermount sink so I can wash things on one side and put them on the grid on the other side to air dry...no more drying on the counter...love that. I also bought an in-drawer knife block where all my knives are stored. My mother, a REALLY, REALLY good cook taught me to never buy knives as a set...just buy the ones you really need and get as good a quality as you can afford in those so...never buying a set I've never had a knife block. I did have a magnetic knife strip inside one of my upper cabinet doors in my old kitchen but I like the knife block in the drawer much better....See MoreGranite Countertops for $35/sq foot ?
Comments (30)I am in NC, the RTP area. Two years ago my KD’s usual fabricator offered a few of what they called “stock granites” at about that $35 price point. Fancy edges extra, one sink cutout included. They offered giallo ornamental, maybe uba tuba, and this pale green stone I’d never seen. I loved and went for the pale green, because (1) it was cheaper than the Wilsonart laminate I’d had my designer price, and (2) it was for my laundry room. Here was the catch = for their “stock granites” you did not get to choose a slab, and you did not get to attend templating. In other words, you got what you got. In my case, all the samples and pics I found showed the pale green as a very consistent if unusual stone. It worked out for me. But in my kitchen, I would never have risked it. RTP is a high-growth area and the builders just can’t keep up with demand, so I suspect this stock granite program was designed to cater primarily to builders of apartment units and lower end condos, not your average homeowner here. And I believe the cost was low because most high-end homes here have gone almost exclusively to quartz, not granite. So I think that forced them to get competitive with their granite pricing....See Morechanging countertop
Comments (12)I put quartz in my older kitchen and am very happy. My cabinets were in good, sound shape and my layout was good. Those factors helped me decide to go ahead with the change. Because you chose a backsplash with lots of movement, keep the counters very calm. Keep those samples up and look at them in different lighting and at different times of the day. The best one will show itself because it will work and look right every time you walk by it. They all look potentially good, but all your pics show everything up close - you need to look at the whole space, and as I mentioned, in different lighting.
