Let's divide, conquer, and swap iris!

I don't have a huge variety as I'm a relatively newbie to the iris world. I started collecting about 3 years ago with some plant swaps at the local library. But apparently you have to thin them out every few years. So mine are noids, but I tried to guess at names. And I have tons of Siberian iris (violet). Anyone want to trade?

I have idea! There are several of us who are interested (include me in this group) who have no named varieties, but would want to play. How's about you simply match us up with each other??? I don't mind trading no-names with another player who also has no-names. Then you don't have to run a separate swap...just match us up...unless you just don't want us to play *sniff* I totally understand if you would rather just keep it simple, though with named only.

On the purple and yellow irises I sent in, I wrote things like the height, and when it blooms. I also put A.L., my initials, so you'll know who it came from. I got mine mailed out today, I really should have been looking for the flat-rate boxes long before this! I ended up using a bigger box, then trying to switch, and the flat-rate box is much smaller, so I put them back in the bigger box, but I couldn't stuff them all in, so there are 2 fewer in there than I thought I was sending. The box looked a little funny, with iris roots poking out the seams :) They charged me ninety cents for DC! I need to be better prepared, and use all the tricks you regular plant-swappers use. Liz, I was motivated to divide my orange iris because you divides yours. I have to say I am not good at dividing iris at all but my yard does look so much better now. After keeping some for myself and giving some to my aunt, I will still have 50+ rhizomes to share. As soon as Chloe saw me dividing my iris, she asked if I was planning on seeing popmama and Ms Liz.

The RMG Iris swap in August fell on my husband's birthday, so I didn't make it. A friend and I went to Bob's yesterday morning, 9/04/21. Start time was 7am, but we got there at 6:30. Apparently people had shown up at 6:15, so Bob let people in early. I had 37 varieties on my wish list. I knew I'd not find everything, but happily got 15 of 37 on my list. Abby and me, Class Reunion, Class Ring, Country Sky, Dutchman's Dream, Evening Drama, Fallalery, Midnight Cry, Po No Mo, Sailors Take Warning, Sisters of Loretto, Smart Money, Spades, Stepping Out and That's All Folks. It sounds like things got pretty well cleared out yesterday. Bob's last Facebook post was from 3pm yesterday, saying there were limited quantities of 50 varieties left. He doesn't say if he'll open again. I'd check his FB page to see what he's doing with what's left. It had rained the day before and with the morning dew, there was a field of people trying to wipe off leaves with our jacket sleeves to dry them enough to mark with a sharpie. The shared frustration was comical! It only marginally worked, I ended up with 5 I couldn't id when I got home. I've planted the 5 in a separate bed to grow on till they bloom to id. You know what I'll be doing this weekend!

No named daffodils, sorry. Hope you found the actual list? I wasn't sure exactly how to do the new list method. Anyway, I'd love any other variety of iris.... what do you recommend? You have so many nice ones!

vaflowernut. Yes your messaging is turned on and so is mom2zandt's. This platform got a revamp last year and not for the best. We used to click someone's name and the message box popped up. Now you must click on their name then click the activity tab to see the message tab. Happy gardening!
