olychick, thank you for taking a look. :) I'm relieved to hear you think a white shower pan is best. I am heading out now to find porcelain marble look tiles for the shower walls to pick up the gray as you suggested. I want a shiny finish to the walls. Tell me if you think that's a misstep. I am avoiding marble as I have a marble topped vanity now that is pock marked with etchings. As far as seeing myself in the vanity, yes, I think I will be able to do so. I was planning on a black framed mirror spanning the vanity. My current vanity is 32 1/4" high (as will be the new vanity) and when seated on my vanity stool my reflection is seen up to my chest. The only issue currently is that my knees are pressed against drawers. I failed to mention that I was thinking of using absolute black granite for the vanity top for two reasons: one being cost and the other being to avoid etching. Will doing so deviate too much from my inspiration? I am purchasing my bathroom vanity lights this week. For my boy's bathroom, they have 2 vanities back to back from one another. The vanity is 54 inches long. The light fixture I purchased is a 4 light bar, measuring 28 inches across. Is this a good size for that space? In comparison to what we ave in our current home, a 36" vanity with a 24" light fixture. I know it will be enough light just don't want it to look out of proportion. The mirror will extend completely over the vanity and the light will go right above the mirror. I think anything bigger will be overwhelming and too much light.

These particular sinks are from stoneforest, they are beautiful but a bit pricey. But I know there are other companies with similar looks maybe for a more competitive price, can't remember top of my head. Perhaps search Console sinks, and add some filters like "marble top" or modern or traditional depending on which direction you want to take.

If you're redoing the shower anyway (looks like tile and grout are degraded and may not be keeping moisture out of the wall), then a tub is pretty cheap, and you might be glad you replaced it rather than having to build your whole bathroom around the current shade of gray. Plus, it may look even worse once the rest of the room is fresh and new.
