New Build Kitchen Removing Cabinets for Open Shelving

We are in the process of a new build (not custom) and are eager to have open shelving, though we cannot upgrade/opt for that during the build. Beyond the general cons of open shelving (dust, limited storage, more upkeep) what should we consider when removing the four cabinets closest to the range hood (two on the left and two on the right, keeping the cabinets above the microwave/oven)? I'm most concerned about the connection between the farthest left cabinet and the one staying (attached to microwave/oven). Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!
