I can't help, we've only watched a few seasons. But have enjoyed them, especially with it having a few actors we'd liked from French Village.

Have you watched another French series, Murder In....? Each episode is stand-alone with different casts. It showcases varied lovely areas of France. Some of the seasons may require a supplemental subscription service to Prime called MHz, I'm not sure. If so, it's not expensive and has a large number of very well done Continental European series from different countries. All with subtitles.

Another French Prime series that we REALLY enjoyed is Captain Marleau. Unfortunately, there are only two seasons so far. The easiest way to describe it is that it is an unabashed rip-off of the old US series Colombo. It even says so in the dialog from time to time. It's a quirky woman detective who wears flannel shirts and hats with ear-flaps. Good stories and very funny.

Thanks Elmer. I don't know why there's always such a delay for Spiral. Maybe it's the Canal producers. Murder In...? sounds right up our alley. I wasn't fond of Columbo, but the hat with ear-flaps is intriguing... (DH once had a neighbor who would yell out the door to her son, "Tuck your ears in!")

The scenery in Murder In.... is stunning. We saw one in the last few weeks that was partially set at Mont St Michel, just as an example. We've also seen locations all around Brittany, the Cote d'Azur including one with the hilltop town Grasse, Rouen, etc.

Capitaine Marleau is very funny. Almost every other dialog line of the lead character is a pun, an insult (Don Rickles-esque), a loudmouth observation, or some such thing so you need to pay close attention or you'll miss some of the fun.

Both are well written and well acted, as most of the European produced shows we've seen have been.
