A reliable non-leaking hand pump does not exist?
Comments (4)Oh heck, suck it up and go buy a plastic funnel and some gas cans. Thats the tried and true way of conveying gas or fuel into yer tank. Cheese! Ain't no labor saving way to refuel yer machines. As for the grease gun--no-no way to keep grease off yer hands--thats why its called a grease gun! Same goes for oil cans. Just think--didja ever see a mechanic with dry chapped hands?...See MoreReliable Refrigerators-Do they still exist?
Comments (50)A few thoughts.. 1. OLD FRIDGES. In my twenties I got a 1953 International Harvestor fridge for free. Yes the freezer was small and you had to fill ice trays. However, It ran flawlessly for 10 years and was still running when I moved on for a "better" fridge. Think of that. It ran maintenance free for over THIRTY YEARS! You simply cannot buy a fridge today that will do that. (btw, 66YEARS LATER these are still being traded in running condition on Ebay for $500 bucks or so!) 2. ICE MAKERS. (and thru the door et al.) Talk to ANY repairman and she will tell you that Icemakers and thru door compononets are absolutely the most common repair problem. ESPECIALLY ice makers that are inside the fridge (rather than the freezer) for obvious reasons. (you also give up valuable storage space in the frig) An ice maker in the freezer is best but still subject to failure. However, freezing ice trays is indeed a pain. THE BEST OPTION (compromise). is an icemaker in the freezer that dumps into a tray. 3. ELECTRONICS AND COMPUTER BOARDS. Again, high failure rates across the board I don't need a computer screen on my frig. I need a frig and a freezer/ice maker with good lighting inside. PERIOD 4. THE BEST FRIG. Would be a simple good looking Stainless steel frig with a simple icemaker in the freezer. That's it. I haven't found it! If anyone does let me know! cheers...See MoreDoes a quiet OTR microwave exist???
Comments (5)I guess it depends on what one calls "quiet". As far as what I call quiet I don;t see how ANY fan of any kind could really be considered quiet be it a OTR microwave or on a hood. But having said that my OTR Microwave is not very noisy at all, in fact it is probably about 1/4th the noise of our old OTR microwave we replaced. It is an LG with the extenda vent and has 400CFM...See MoreNice reliable microwave - does it exist?
Comments (4)Inverter Technology Delivers true multi-level power settings, preserving the full flavor and texture of your food. The consistent distribution of microwave energy also helps delicate foods to simmer without overcooking the edges and surface, a common problem with microwaves. Inverter Turbo Defrost lets you defrost foods even faster than our powerful auto defrost feature. This advanced sequencing system distributes microwave energy in a new and efficient way, resulting in fast, thorough defrosting. One-Touch Genius Sensor Reheat and Cook Adjusts power levels and calculates cooking times automatically, making reheating and cooking a variety of foods easier than ever. ---------------------------------------------------------- Traditional microwave technology is either on or off. For expample if you chose 60% power for 10 minutes. It is on for 6 seconds at full power then off for 4 seconds until ten minutes are over. Panasonic says their magnatron is on all the time,10 minutes but at reduced power. Sharp has their version of this too. Just the generic stuff coming out of China/southeast Asia still has old magnetron technology. Maybe Samsung has new tech too not sure though. The second is you pick a food and the microwave calculates power level and time. I never use these except for the popcorn bag button. They are usually dead on because popcorn bags come in uniform size and weight.I can calculate on the fly better than MW programming. Panasonic.com does not have an install guide. Your GC is just going to have to wing it using his/her experience to figure out correct clearances....See MoreSheila H
