I see photos on-line of the Spiced rum with white posts and black railings which looks nice. Kind of ties it all together. If you want it to go away I’d do black railings and dark stained posts. Would not do white...gets too dirty.

I just used spiced rum on my deck and stairway.
I think black is a better choice for the railing.

Black if you want the ‘iron’ look, white would be more traditional.

We are considering Trex Spiced Rum also for a deck. If we go with it, we were thinking black railings and posts. Our house is white and we don't want any more white, thus going the complete opposite color-wise.

Some posters have noted the composite deck gets too hot to walk on and have had to add retractable awnings to block the sun. Don't know your situation, but be aware of the posts.

Thanks everyone for the help on making these color choices. What we are considering is Trex spiced rum for the flooring, and the railing posts to be white ( to tie in the trim), black spindles, and brown on top and bottom of the railing.

I personally like the spiced rum with the railing in brown but of course, it depends on the color of the house.

i really wanted to stay away from white, but since our house trim is white, I’m thinking Just posts in white. Want to put Railing in brown ( match deck floor) and black Spindles. So hard to visualize until it’s actually up.

Don't do three colors- too busy. Keep it simple- white post, black rail

You don’t think the Railing needs a bit of brown to tie into the deck floor? Or maybe white post with brown rail?

I agree with Hallett that 3 colors is just way too busy.

What color will all of the deck support posts be?
With your present deck in the pic- they make a strong presence..

Posts on railing to be white to match the house trim. The posts on the footings will be staying the same or stained darker brown to match spiced rum flooring color. The deck layout will be staying the same.
