Skink tails come off as a defensive mechanism. They grow back in a few months I believe. I don't think my cat bites them off, I think he just plays with them rough and the tails come off when he is pawing them around or trying to catch them. They are pretty fast runners.

They are pretty cute. Most of mine look like this one. The babies are only a couple inches long but the adults can get up 6" (if they still have their tail).

Interesting!! Their tail doesn't really serve any purpose (whipping etc) just as a getaway technique!

Jasdip....ALL lizard tails come "off". They bleed a lot when it happens too. I was a tomboy. I chased lizards. ☺ Our local lizard had a tiny body, but his tail was about 24" long. they grow back longer than is normal once they're off. ☺ Some species....really long!

I bought a new boom box this year, to drown out the noise from children next door.

Sometimes parking lots and restricted access neighborhoods have little stickers to be put on the back of the rear view mirror for ID purposes. Our road and bridge toll authorities have used transponder stickers that can be placed either at the corner of the windshield or on the back of the rear view mirror. When faced with such things, I keep them loose and unaffixed. For the toll authorities, you can register your license plates and the toll gets charged by character recognition software that analyses the photo taken of each car. With the cars traveling at highway speed it must be a very fast exposure. I never speed up to try to defeat the process but they've never failed to ID me or my wife.

Skibby, I still buy checks, but they have gotten very expensive, probably because they are used so seldom anymore. I had to pay almost $2 per check, and so now I write as few as possible, but I still have to write them.
