Which way do you think look better for the accent trim
Comments (10)I remember what my realtor told me when we bought our house on the steep hill, 1/2 the people will like it/not care the other 1/2 will not like/will care. It's always interesting that we have such divergent opinions on everything! Go with what YOU personally like and try not to be double minded when you hear the opposite opinions. LOL! :)...See MoreKA mixer better way to make my bread?
Comments (35)We bought this built-n Bosch mixer instead of the counter model. There is no danger of it walking away anywhere no matter how unbalanced a load you end up with. It was risky because the concept models are discontinued but not having to give up any counter or cabinet space for a bulky drive unit made it worthwhile. So far we are happy with it. It serves as a food processor (not a great one, it's on the small side and it doesn't autopulse like my old Braun multisystem, but it's okay) a slicer/grater/Julienner, a mixer, including a very heavy duty all-steel dough hook, a blender (superb performance out of that), and a stone grain mill. The pulser on the thing is kind of awkward, requiring you to twist the spring loaded knob to the left, and it only pulses to high speed, which can get messy when you are dealing with liquids, but overall, it works out great and saves me a lot of room in the cabinets. Again, this is discontinued and probably more for the appliance geek, but since you are posting on here all the time, asolo, I am thinking you ought to at least know about it....See MoreSimple and cheap way to make this look better?
Comments (8)Definately a fabric drap from ther bottom of the sink edge would be nice and relatively simple. Painting the rough cabinet wouldn't conceal the edge where the sink abuts the board, so even that and a door won't work alone. If you're lucky, the sink has a "lip" that you could use to spot glue fabric onto from the back of the edge, allowing you to scallop and position the fabric and its drape....See MoreAny way to make this wood floor look better?
Comments (1)I'm sorry to say but your floors have reached their expiry date. Wood finishes have a life span of (roughly) 25 years. The heavy traffic at the 'pivot point' is to be expected if these floors haven't been finished in a LONG time. At this point, I'm seeing 'wear through' (raw wood) right at the transition point (wood floor meets painted transition piece). There is no 'fix' for wear through other than a full sand and refinish. What you MIGHT try (*might) is to bring in a flooring professional to deal with the HALLWAY. A highly trained wood flooring refinisher (not just some guy/gal who swings a paint brush) is to have the HALLWAY sanded down and refinished while leaving the rest of the other rooms alone. This could be the 'fix'. But realize the pretty new hallway is going to make all the other rooms look tattered and worn. This can be reduced by having a 'buff and coat' added to all the wood floors. A buff and coat is where a SINGLE coat of new finish is added to a finish that is still in decent shape. This will 'perk up' the look of all the other floors so that they don't look so tattered and worn. A buff and coat ONLY works when the rest of the finish is IN TACT. No wear through. Wear through cannot be fixed with a buff and coat. Wear through is the indicator that says, "Help. My finish is too old. Please have me sanded and refinished! Now please!" And a buff and coat is (roughly) half the price of a full sand and refinish. The average price of a full sand/refinish = $4-$5/sf. A buff and coat = $3/sf (or so). You have an oil based finish on this floor. To 'match' the rest of the floors your refinisher will use OIL based again. And that SMELLS to high heaven. Some people feel like they have to move out until the smell is gone. Or you leave it alone and list the home 'As-Is, Where Is' and be done with it....See Morerichardabc
