Comments (2)Can't talk about Peach Tree but I know QuickBooks is a good overall accounting program. You can keep track of your customer base and your suppliers as well. I'm sure you are on the calendar year. Since it's so late in the year I would wait until Jan. to implement a new accounting system so your historical financial information is easily tracked. I've looked into several accounting programs and my vote is for QuickBooks. As a matter of fact, I'm am using a different program now but will be changing over to Quickbooks this January. You might want to go to quickbooks.intuit.com. They give you an inside look of the program. It might help you decide if it's a program that will fill your needs. I know a lot of businesses use it. Hope this helps you. Deb...See MoreQ about online bill paying
Comments (11)I do pretty much all of mine online through my bank. I had a bill that had the same problem as you seem to have with At&T and I called them to find out what the problem was, in their version there was a dash or something and in the banks it did not translate the same but I could choose to pay it direct from their site, I did not want to do that so they told me how to change it so it would work through the bank and all was fine. However I do my att through my bank and have never had any problem with it. Make sure those payments are going through because you will end up getting a cut off notice like I did even though I had done what I thought was a correct payment, however it had bounced back and I was not aware of that, once I got it set up the way they recommended it was fine. So if you want to consider paying the ones you have problems with directly from their site that is another option. I have had a few change address but by manually entering the info there was not a problem, not every one will be automatically recognized by the bank especially a new address it probably is just not in their system yet....See MoreSimplistic Template For League Accounting??
Comments (2)A brief look at Nonprofit Quickbooks confirms your comment about being more than you need. Question: You keep records for 8 teams and none have parents that are sufficiently familiar with Excel to help set up the process? Okay, next: I suggest striking up conversations with local Lifelong Learning College teachers who teach Excel in evening classes. In my area, a couple hundred miles north of you, many of these teachers are retirees and usually are more than willing to get you started, and perhaps will set up a template for you. The basic evening courses here are but a couple of nights that give a rundown of spreadsheet basics that include formulas. It is probably not necessary for you to become a formula expert, just enough to understand a few of them. Take a two-day course and get to know the instructor for the additional assistance you may need....See MoreFree accounting program?
Comments (5)Quicken has a wide range of budget and spending analysis tools built in. There's nothing easier or better that I know of. Do you already have your financial accounts set for auto downloading? Bank accounts, charge accounts, investment accounts, etc.? Do you update at least several times per month and promptly review the transactions to correct categorization? You should, you should and you should, and with that, you'd have a budget set up and ready to work with in less than 30 minutes. A budget to spending analysis has two inputs - your budget by category and then actual amounts. If you're using Quicken correctly (and there are plenty of shortcuts to take, it's not like you need to track every penny), with their choices of tools for setting up budgeting, almost all the work is done for you. Keeping my records current and reviewing activity takes me 10 minutes a week or less, although my situation isn't very difficult. If you don't want to use the built in budgeting features, then do a simple budget with pencil and paper and use Quicken's monthly spending reports by category to compare actuals to your budget. For PC based software, do you remember Microsoft Money? How about Managing Your Money? Both of these, and a number of others, came and went because consumers found Quicken to be a superior product. As with most other categories, I'm sure there are some open source programs available, but for as cheap and as good as Quicken is, i wouldn't waste your time. The link below (found by Googling) is a video from the Quicken site that explains how to set up a budget. Post back if you have questions I might be able to answer. I'm not a power user by any means, and in fact i don't use the budgeting feature (because I don't want or need to), but I've used the program for 5 or so years and can find my way though it pretty easily. Note, there is also a pretty active user forum (which I also don't use) where questions can be answered. When the need arises, I've found Quicken's call up tech support is very good. . Here is a link that might be useful: Video- setting up a Quicken budget...See Moregardener123
