Q about online bill paying

I find that I am still sending out a couple of my bill payments by US mail. There are several reasons why.

One set of mailed checks are to the small local payees, the ones that my bank would mail a check to anyway.

Then I have one payee that changed the bill address a few months ago, and my bill-pay does not seem to recognize the new address. This is a national credit card, too. Yes, I can manually enter the new address, but I am hesitant to do so.

The third is that the bank tells me that one company, again, not small, (it's the phone company!) does not recognize the account number. ???? Something about format, yet I have entered it exactly as shown, yet the program asks me if I am sure, AT&T doesn't use that format.

How confident are you in using bill-pay from your bank? Should I just go ahead and make the corrections and click away? When I first set up some of the bills, I erred and one bill did not get sent as planned, and picked up a late fee, my error.
